PRO100 vs ESPADA WESG 2019 RUSSIA CLOSED QUALIFIERS BETTING PREVIEW

Pro100 and ESPADA are set to meet on Monday in the quarter-finals of the World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) 2019 Russia Closed Qualifiers. The winner of the best-of-three (Bo3) clash will advance to the semis, while the loser with drop into the lower bracket.

Pro100 will want revenge for their 1-2 loss at the GG.Bet New York Invitational: Open Qualifier back in June 2019, where ESPADA denied them entry to the grand finals.

The Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko and his squad had a successful season in 2019, winning the HardCup in September and triumphing at both the DreamHack Delhi Invitational and Qi Banja Luka in December. Pro100 also finished second at the CIS Esports Pro Championship, as well as third-fourth at both the United Masters League Season 2: Week 3 Qualifier and EPICENTER 2019: CIS Qualifier.

As far as pro100’s results from 2020 are concerned, the CIS squad finished last (17th-32nd) at IEM Katowice European Open Qualifiers #2 and fifth-eighth at the DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020: European Open Qualifiers, meaning WESG will be their first chance of the year to win a CS:GO esports tournament.

At the DreamHack Anaheim qualifiers, pro100 got off to a strong start and defeated Sinners 16-9. They pocketed a forfeit win against EURONICS Gaming in the round of 16 but were unable to deliver in the final fixture against Winstrike Team, who bested them 16-14 on Dust II and 16-12 on Train. That clash on January 18 was their last competitive fixture.

ESPADA enjoyed a successful 2019 season as well, finishing third-fourth at the HardCup, winning CIS Rising #3, claiming bronze at the AOC & Western Digital Winter Clash and running second at the Russian Esports Cup in December. They have carried some of that form in 2020, finishing runners-up at the Great Universe Cup in late-January and reaching the CIS Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Closed Qualifiers via the open draw.

At the Great Universe Cup, Dmitrii “S0tF1k” Forostianko and his squad defeated Akatsuki (2-0) and Hard Legion Esports (2-0) but fell flat against Gambit Youngsters (1-2) in the grand finals. During the Rio open qualifiers, ESPADA bested the likes of Kyiv Esports Club (16-3), Revolt (16-11), DreamEaters (16-11) and Space Jam (2-1).

Pro100 have not made any changes since October 2019, when they signed Dmitriy “dimasick” Matvienko from Gambit Esports. ESPADA’s last personnel switch came in late December, when they signed 16-year-old rookie Robert “Patsi” Isianov and their new in-game leader, S0tF1k, as replacements for Artem “RAiLWAY” Gradovich and Vadym “h1glaiN” Tanasiuk. Patsi has been averaging a 1.10 rating since joining ESPADA, while S0tF1k sits at a 0.91 rating.

PRO100 vs ESPADA WESG 2019 RUSSIA CLOSED QUALIFIERS BETTING PREDICTIONS

Out of the three meetings between pro100 and ESPADA throughout 2019, pro100 won twice. Their most recent clash came in October 2019 at the WePlay! Forge of Masters Season 2: Online Stage, where pro100 won 2-1.

While pro100 hold the head-to-head advantage, we have to consider both teams have made changes to their teams. The most notable of those is the arrival of a new IGL at ESPADA.

The two rosters look equally matched. Pro100 hold a slight form advantage, while ESPADA players have produced marginally higher average ratings (1.12 > 1.05).

Based on the teams’ map pick and ban rate, we can expect ESPADA to pick Dust II and ban Inferno, while pro100 are expected to pick Overpass and ban Nuke. The win rate of the teams shows ESPADA holding an advantage on both Dust II (50%) and Overpass (83%) over pro100 (44%, 54%), which should make for an interesting bout.

Pro100 enter this match as heavy favourites because they have played stronger opponents in recent matches, but we don’t believe ESPADA should be priced as high as $2.85. S0tF1k and company have played well of late and should give pro100 a run for their money. A handicap bet of +1.5 on ESPADA is a reasonable pick here, but we will take advantage of the high odds and take our chances on the underdogs to win outright.

The World Electronic Sports Games 2019 Latin America North tournament will kick off on Saturday, January 11, featuring four Dota 2 teams that will duke it out for a ticket to February’s WESG Latin America Finals. Here are our betting predictions, with odds from ESB’s top-rated esports bookmakers.

Infamous vs Thunder Predator

Thunder Predator ($1.43) enter their WESG LatAM campaign fresh off a title-winning run at the Aorus League Dota 2 Regionals – Christmas Edition. Frank “Frank” Arias and co. put up a show and took home the top prize of US $3,000, losing only one round in the process.

Prior to the Aorus League, TP also won Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Season 1 in November and X-Bet.co Rampage Series #6 in December. As it stands now, TP are unbeaten in their last 10 fixtures and hold an impressive 19-2 record in their last 21 games, which dates back to late-October when they entered the Movistar Liga Pro.

The say Infamous ($2.54) have seen better days would be an understatement. Shortly after their historic run to a seventh-eighth finish at The International 2019, the Peruvian team’s entire roster of Hector “K1” Antonio Rodriguez, Jean Pierre “Chris Luck” Gonzales, Adrian “Wisper” Cespedes Dobles, Elvis “Scofield” De la Cruz Pe?a and Steven “Stinger” Vargas left for Team Anvorgesa and in early-October joined with beastcoast.

Since the departure of their TI roster, INF have struggled to achieve any notable results. Most recently, they had a rather lacklustre performance at X-Bet.co Rampage Series #6, where they finished third behind paiN Gaming and Thunder Predator.

TP and INF have met four times since mid-October. One ended in a stalemate, two ended in INF’s favour, while the most recent meeting at the Movistar Liga Pro in early December saw TP claim a clean sweep.

While INF come off as a stronger team when you compare records, their recent form is poor. TP, meanwhile, have lost only two fixtures since October 23, 2019. INF might be able to produce some resistance and win a map, but TP should come out ahead.

Prediction: Thunder Predator to win – $1.43 at GG Bet

Team Unknown vs Incubus Gaming

Team Unknown ($1.26) made quite a few changes to their roster towards the end of the last year and enter 2020 hoping to make waves in the LATAM Dota 2 esports scene.

Back in September 2019, UNK parted ways with Carlos “Tiares” Huamani, Sebastian “Robo-Z” Cerralta, Thomas “Valquiria” Jaulis Romero and Junior Reyes “Yadomi” Rimari. Towards the end of the year, UNK also saw the departure of Bernando “Berna” Rocca, Juan “Atun” Ochoa and Christian “Madara” Kimura.

Due to the organization’s decision to remove Madara in late December, UNK now field a four-man roster and will have to act quickly to find a stand-in for the WESG LatAM. That won’t do them any good in terms of team synergy, while finding a high-quality replacement this close to the event will prove tricky.

While UNK’s core remains intact, we don’t see that as a massive positive given their iffy performances last month. At X-Bet.co Rampage Series #6 they got off to a flying start but crashed out of the tournament in the playoffs, where they lost to TP and INF. At the Aorus League Dota 2 Regionals – Christmas Edition, which took place a couple of days later, UNK failed to win more than one match and finished in fifth-eighth place.

UNK are priced as heavy favourites to defeat Incubus Gaming ($3.38), whose roster consists of Cristian “Pamplona” Fernandez, Pokorn, Bryan Freddy “SmAsH” Machaca Si?a, Jesus “Ztok” Carhuaricra and former INF member K1, who alone adds a lot of quality to the team.

UNK have too many issues on their hands for us to believe they can justify their low odds. An incomplete roster and poor form suggest they will struggle here, which is why we predict an upset win for K1 and his team.

Prediction: Incubus Gaming to win – $3.38 at GG Bet

The Greater China CS:GO qualifiers for the World Electronic Sports Games will continue on Thursday, December 12, with eight teams competing for a direct invite to the main event in March 2020. Here are our betting predictions, with odds courtesy of GG Bet.

Lynn Vision vs ViCi Gaming

Thursday, December 12 – 13:30 CST

Lynn Vision ($2.61) and ViCi Gaming ($1.43) will clash in the opening fixture of the playoffs in what is foreseen to be a rather one-sided bout.

ViCi enter the playoffs after finishing their group stage venture in second spot with a 4-1 record. The only team that defeated them was TYLOO (12-16), who finished as the first seed with a perfect 5-0 score.

SEE ALSO: ESPORTS BETTING SITES

Lynn Vision rolled over their opponents in Group A, where they finished with a 5-0 record. To say Lynn were the alpha dogs of their group would be an understatement, considering they lost only 5.4 rounds per game on average. Furthermore, the only team who managed to take more than six rounds off them were Rising-Stars (16-10).

Both teams enter the playoffs in great form, with all of their players far exceeding their average ratings. Lynn come out ahead when comparing player ratings, but they faced a much weaker batch of teams in the group stage than ViCi did.

Lynn have momentum on their side, but we don’t see that playing a pivotal role here. ViCi are the second-best Asian team and Lynn Vision are ranked 16th, which paints a clear picture of which team should come out ahead.

Prediction: ViCi -1.5 – $2.27 at GG Bet

TYLOO vs Rising-Stars

Thursday, December 12 – 16:30 CET

It is clear which is the superior team in the clash between TYLOO ($1.26) and Rising-Stars ($3.53).

TYLOO have been the alpha dogs of the Asian CS:GO esports scene for a while. There are rumours that their star player, Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinand, could be leaving for Gen.G, but until he does, we have no reason to question the team’s quality.

TYLOO dominated Group B, where they did not drop a single match, while the same can’t be said for Rising-Stars, who finished as the second seed in Group A.

TYLOO and Rising-Stars have met once before. That was in last month’s Chinese Champions Cup, where TYLOO won 2-1 in the semi-finals en route to first place.

While R-Stars have taken maps off good teams before and boast an impressive 75% win rate on Dust II, we have to note that TYLOO bested them on 19-15 on Dust II at the Chinese Champions Cup. Trust the favourites to deliver and win this one with a clean sweep.

Prediction: TYLOO -1.5 – $2.27 at GG Bet

OneThree.TSG vs ahq e-Sports Club

Thursday, December 12 – 20:30 CET

The CS:GO betting odds for OneThree.TSG ($1.35) and ahq e-Sports Club ($2.94) point to yet another lopsided matchup.

13.TSG ended their group stage with 2-3 record, while ahq just barely made it out of Group A with only a single victory. That result came against Macau Legend (16-10), a C-Tier team currently ranked 252nd in the world.

While ahq have improved in recent weeks, they are still lacking quality in key areas. They should pose no real threat to 13.TSG, who recently won the IEM World Championship Asian Open qualifiers and finished second at the Chinese Champions Cup.

Prediction: OneThree.TSG to win – $1.35 at GG Bet

Invictus Gaming vs 4bowie

Thursday, December 12 – 22:00 CET

Much like the other WESG 2019 Greater China playoff fixtures, Invictus Gaming ($1.29) versus 4bowie ($3.04) should be a one-sided match.

4bowie are a newly established team with mostly unknown players who have completed less than five matches together, which fails to inspire much hope they can impress here.

There is not a lot to be said about 4bowie other than they are obvious underdogs who will need to outperform themselves to win anything here. Side with Invictus to deliver.

Prediction: Invictus Gaming to win – $1.29 at GG Bet

The semi-finals of East European CS:GO qualifiers for the 2019 World Electronics Sports Games are set to commence on Thursday, November 28. Here is our betting preview of the two fixtures, with odds from ESB’s top-rated esports bookmakers.

SKADE vs Illuminar Gaming

The opening semi-final bout between SKADE ($2.34) and Illuminar Gaming ($1.53) features two teams that will meet on the battlefield for the first time in their history.

SKADE are a young Bulgarian team who formed at the end of September when they acquired former BPro Gaming members and added two others down the line. The roster currently consists of IGL Ivan “Rock1nG” Stratiev, Denislav “dennyslaw” Dimitrov, Kostadin “rafftu” Turbinov, Alex “rainwalker” Petrov and Teodor “SPELLAN” Nikolov.

Rainwalker was previously a stand-in player for BPro Gaming, while SPELLAN arrived at the start of November after his decision to leave ex-Epsilon.

The average age of the SKADE roster is 20.8 years and the players are mostly unknown in the CS:GO esports scene due to their lack of notable results at the highest level. SKADE are ranked 91st in the CS:GO global rankings, which is a clear indicator of where they stand.

SKADE made the extended field for WESG 2019 by finishing first in closed qualifiers. They are also competing in LOOT.BET Season 5, where they won against Nordavind (2-0), Heretics (2-1) and AGO (2-0) to enter round four of the tournament as one of three undefeated teams.

While Illimunar Gaming are not regarded as one of the elite CS:GO teams, they are currently the second-best Polish outfit and sit 28th in the global rankings.

One of their most notable achievements in recent weeks came at the ESL Mistrzostwa Polski – Fall 2019: Online Stage, where Illuminar clinched third-fourth place after defeating CLEANTmix (2-0) in the playoffs.

Despite being priced as heavy favourites to win here, we have some serious doubts about Illuminnar. They struggled against the amateur side ENRAGE in the quarter-finals, losing the first map and then going to 19-17 in overtime on Vertigo.

Considering the Polish squad struggled against ENRAGE, we can only guess how they will fare against a much stronger team in SKADE. An outright bet on the Bulgarian squad is very appealing, but we will play it safe and settle for a handicap bet here.

Prediction: SKADE +1.5 – $1.49 at GG Bet

Aristocracy vs AGO

The second semi-final match of the day will see AGO ($2.00) and Aristocracy ($1.72) lock horns for the third time this season.

Aristocracy fought their way into the semi-finals with a convincing win against Wisla Krakow (2-0), who they decimated on both Nuke (16-12) and Dust II (16-8).

Prior to that win, Aristocracy competed at SECTOR: MOSTBET, where they lost to Team Spirit (1-2) in the quarter-finals and dropped down to lower bracket where they beat forZe (0-2). Other notable wins from that tournament came against Windigo (2-0) and Winstrike (2-1).

Aristocracy sit 37th in the global rankings, which is a notable drop from the 26th spot they occupied mid-November.

AGO paved their way into semi-finals with a win against Virtus.pro (2-0) in the quarters, taking both maps with a 12-16 scoreline. That was a great way to bounce back from their less-than-impressive 0-2 defeat against SKADE at LOOT.BET Season 5.

AGO also competed at the ESL Mistrzostwa Polski – Fall 2019: Online Stage, where they clinched a third-fourth place finish alongside Illuminar after defeating PACT 2-1 in the playoffs.

When we compare AGO and Aristocracy, we have to look at their two recent meetings at ESL Mistrzostwa Polski on October 23. The first game ended in a dominant 16-0 win for Aristocracy on Nuke, while the second went 16-8 to AGO on Train.

That was surprising to see, considering Aristocracy are far more efficient on Train (75% win rate) compared to AGO (42.9% win rate). Also, Aristocracy have the superior win rate on four out of seven maps.

While it is tempting to take the inviting odds on AGO to win, their recent inconsistency does not inspire trust. For that reason, we will back Aristocracy to reach the final.

Prediction: Aristocracy to win – $1.72 at GG Bet

TNC Predator have taken home USD $500,000 after triumphing over Keen Gaming with a 2-0 score in the Dota 2 grand final at the World Electronic Sports Games.

Four teams from Southeast Asia qualified into the main event of this tournament, but only TNC made it as far as the playoffs.

They did so with Raven from Team Lotac standing in for the unavailable Kuku.

SEE ALSO: ESPORTS BETTING PREDICTIONS

TNC played a total of 10 games in the group stage, where they were pitted against White-Off, The Final Tribe, TEAM TEAM, Room 310 and FATE Esports.

They enjoyed a very promising start, securing six points by whitewashing both FATE Esports and Room 310 on day one and then adding another five points on day two to finish top of Group C.

First up in the playoffs were Team Canarinho, whose roster featured Chaos Esports Club members hFn, tavo and kingrd.

Gabbi, in the carry position for Predator, performed well against the Brazilian squad, racking up 11 kills with Phantom Assassin in game one and then going undefeated for six kills with Troll Warlock in game two.

After that came a rematch with White-Off, who held TNC to a draw in the group stage, but this time around the Philippines esports outfit ran away with a 2-0 win.

Facing Keen Gaming in the title match, Predator took a gamble by picking Chen first in both games even they had only used him once before in the tournament.

In game one they adopted a pushing strategy with Nature Prophet and Venomancer alongside Chen, securing one lane of barracks before the 20-minute mark and then forcing a surrender by breaking through the second lane of barracks without any scarification.

Game two saw TNC change tack and ditch the push, although Chen’s early roaming in the laning phase was crucial in securing essential items for the team.

One of the major beneficiaries was Lifestealer, who secured Radiance inside 19 minutes and was able to purchase an early Hand of Midas and speed up his farm.

That allowed TNC to deploy a snowball strategy and Keen Gaming had no choice but to fight them after losing their own tower early.

The game was over when Predator pushed the high ground after Lifestealer took the Aegis of the Immortal from KG’s Roshan.
