?Riot Games gave the Singaporean company the rights to publish League of Legends in 2010, with the rights for Teamfight Tactics following later. After 12 years, Riot is gearing up to take back control beginning in January 2023.? ?
The game developer shared this development via a press release on its official website. While League of Legends has grown into a favorite in Southeast Asia, Riot guarantees the player experience will remain unchanged across the world.? ?
After a 12-year partnership with Garena, Riot Games will begin self-publishing League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics across Southeast Asia in January 2023, the statement read.? ?
In the years since Riot first released League in 2009, the game has become a favorite for players in Southeast Asia. By self-publishing, we will make sure players in Southeast Asia have the same League and TFT experience as people who play our games all around the world.? ?
Riot currently self-publishes Valorant in the region, so its decision to do the same for LoL and TFT comes as no surprise. The organization has revealed its intent to increase its presence in the region, proposing the creation of offices in the Philippines and Indonesia.? ?
In the released statement, Riot Games thanked Garena for its contributions over the past 12 years. The game publisher also revealed that, aside from self-publishing Valorant in the region, it also controls the publishing of Legends of Runeterra and League of Legends: Wild Rift.?
?Over the past decade, Garena has been instrumental in growing the League community and were thankful for their partnership, the statement continued.?
?With Riots growth and expansion into a multi-game studio, we are continuing to focus on serving more players around the world and especially in the Asia-Pacific regions.? ?
With that in mind, weve decided to end our partnership with Garena and self-publish our games across Asia-Pacific. We have already been self-publishing VALORANT, Legends of Runeterra, and League of Legends: Wild Rift in the region, and soon, League and TFT will join them.?
?The statement revealed that the migration of accounts from Garena to Riot will commence on November 19. The game developer promises to work closely with Garena during the transition in order to prevent any possible glitches or lags in the system.?
?Riot stated that everything, including players’ skins, ranks, Riot points, and levels, will remain intact during the transfer. Users who played at least one LoL or TFT game during the 2021 or 2022 seasons will be able to access Summoner Names. Also, friends who have yet to transfer their accounts might not be visible on their friends lists.? ?
Riot Games strongly believes that the decision will be to the benefit of the Southeast Asian esports scene, stating that this transition will help provide League pro teams and fans with the most exciting and entertaining esports experience possible.? ?
Since the Garena LoL account will no longer be in use after the migration, Riot advised players to immediately migrate their accounts. The game developer has also warned that accounts which are not migrated before December 31 will be deleted.
?Riot Games has also announced that it will be taking over the ownership and operation of the Vietnam Championship Series (VCS). Previously managed by both Riot and Garena, the VCS has been the top-tier division for League of Legends in Vietnam since 2018.

ALLIANCE vs TUNDRA ESPORTS Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | Alliance $7.00 at GG Bet | Tundra $1.10 at GG Bet |
When: | June 8, 2022 | 15:00 CEST |

?Alliance successfully fought their way into the top league with a runner-up finish in the lower division. But even though Alliance deserve to compete at the top level, this team is not good enough to contest the DPC WEU title.
As seen in the first DPC Tour of the season, Alliance were no match for Europe’s top squads, and without any roster changes, it’s doubtful that Alliance will fare any better this time out. Moreover, Nikolay “CTOMAHEH1” Kalchev and co. have played just seven games since the start of March and have not won a single game since April 16.
Their next opponents, Tundra Esports, won bronze at ESL One Stockholm 2022 a couple of weeks back, further proving that they’re one of Europe’s top Dota 2 esports teams and, without question, significantly better than Alliance. Expect a very one-sided affair and a convincing victory from Tundra Esports.

?Felt enter the final DPC Tour of the season with a new-look roster, featuring two new players in Aslan “paradise” Vadilov and Mykyta “Shoe” Zagrebin, who joined the team at the end of May. This puts us in a tricky spot trying to figure out how good felt are, although it’s not like the team lost much quality with the recent changes.
Nevertheless, it’s hard to expect the international roster to achieve much against Wildcard Gaming, who is one of the region’s strongest Dota 2 teams C behind only TSM, Evil Geniuses, and Quincy Crew, who are in a class of their own. But, there’s always a chance that the favourites will slip, especially early into the new tour and against an unknown opponent.
Wildcard Gaming should win, but at the offered Dota 2 esports betting odds, felt with a map advantage offers far more value. Wildcard Gaming were solid in the previous tour, but they also lost against Nouns (0-2) and Team DogChamp just last week, which is concerning.
BOOM ESPORTS vs TEAM SMG Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

?BOOM Esports did not quite live up to the expectations at ESL One Stockholm 2022, where they placed ninth-12th, with five draws and two defeats against Tundra Esports and the eventual champions OG. So even though BOOM failed to make a deep run, they deserve some slack since their defeats came against some of the best teams at the tournament.
Moreover, their lack of success on the international stage does not change the fact that BOOM Esports are one of the top teams in their region. Team SMG are not even close to being regarded as such, and the recent departure of Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr. doesn’t help either.
Team SMG looked solid back in January-February when they placed third in DPC SEA Tour 1 Regional Final, but they have since achieved nothing. They finished sixth in DPC SEA Tour 2 Division I, just a couple of wins safe from relegation, and it’s hard to expect SMG to achieve much more this time out. This is BOOM’s game to lose.
GALAXY RACER vs YANGON GALACTICOS Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Dota 2 Odds: | GXR $1.68 at GG Bet | Draw $2.49 | Galacticos $8.76 at GG Bet |
When: | September 15, 2021 at 17:00 SGT |

?Galaxy Racer will play their second BTS Pro Series match on Wednesday when they clash with Yangon Galacticos. It will mark their third meeting of the year and the first since February when Galaxy Racer won 2-1.
Yangon Galacticos enter this match with a 1-2-2 record after five rounds of play with losses against BOOM Esports and Polaris Esports, two draws against Team SMG and Motivate.Trust Gaming, and a win against Dream Makers. Outside of their loss against Polaris, Galacticos have done well enough to be considered one of the tournament’s top-four teams.
Galacticos are priced as high as $2.10 to win one map against Galaxy Racer, which is very generous since they have done it before. A smaller wager on the outsiders to win the match is worth considering, but we will play it safe and settle for a handicap bet.
EXECRATION vs ARMY GENIUSES Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Odds: | XctN $2.04 at GG Bet | Draw $2.16 | AG $6.36 at GG Bet |
When: | September 15, 2021 at 19:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/BeyondTheSummit) |
?Army Geniuses are priced as heavy underdogs for this bout, even though they are 3-1 in the head-to-head across their last four meetings with Execration. Still, it’s worth mentioning that Execration won their most recent clash 2-0 just a week ago.
You could argue that Army Geniuses shouldn’t be priced at such high Dota 2 betting odds, but their poor form justifies the price. In contrast, Execration are undefeated in their last six (4-2-0) and have suffered only two losses since the start of the month (6-8-2) C both against the current BTS Pro Series frontrunners, Team SMG.
A bet on Army Geniuses at the offered Dota 2 odds is inviting, but we don’t see how they can upset the in-form Execration. We have to side with the favourites for this bout.
MOTIVATE.TRUST GAMING vs ARMY GENIUSES Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Odds: | MG.Trust $1.64 at GG Bet | Draw $2.54 | AG $9.09 at GG Bet |
When: | September 9, 2021 at 17:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/BeyondTheSummit) |
Motivate.Trust Gaming are expected to ease past Army Geniuses on Thursday, which isn’t surprising considering they have achieved far more over the season. What’s more, MG.Trust won this matchup 2-0 during the seventh season of the BTS Pro Series.
Still, we don’t believe the offered Dota 2 betting odds are fair. Army Genoises are 2-1 up in the head-to-head across their last three meetings, and even though those two wins happened way back in May, the teams haven’t changed by much and look as strong as they were four months back.
The only roster change across both teams since then happened in July when MG.Trust parted ways with Supanut “LionaX” Chow and replaced him with Anurat “boombell” Praianun, who rejoined the team after seven months.
Even though you could argue that Army Geniuses are weaker, we have to take a shot with them at $9.09. Alternatively, you can take the underdogs with a map handicap.
OB ESPORTS X NEON vs BOOM ESPORTS Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Dota 2 Odds: | OB.Neon $4.07 at GG Bet | Draw $1.96 | BOOM $2.85 at GG Bet |
When: | September 9, 2021 at 19:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/BeyondTheSummit) |
OB Esports x Neon started their journey into the eighth season of the BTS Pro Series on Tuesday with a draw against Execration, which isn’t too exciting considering Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla and co. were priced as favourites with the top esports betting sites. Still, we have to keep in mind that they’re playing with three temporary stand-ins.
BOOM Esports are one of the strongest teams at the tournament; however, like OB.Neon, they are playing with two stand-ins in Jinn Marrey “Palos” Lamatao and Prieme Ejay “PlayHard” Banquil. The latter is a former member of OB.Neon, who cut him from the team in June.
The revenge narrative could make you favour BOOM Esports over OB Esports x Neon, but we’re primarily interested in PlayHard’s insight into how his former team operates. For that reason, we like BOOM at excellent betting odds.
EXECRATION vs FNATIC Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|

Dota 2 Betting Odds: | Execration $2.39 at GG Bet | Fnatic $1.52 at GG Bet |
When: | August 12, 2021 at 14:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/BeyondTheSummit) |
?Execration and Fnatic will meet for the fifth time of the year and the first time since Friday when Execration swept the current no.18 in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Rankings. Although that win can be viewed as an upset, it’s worth mentioning that Execration haven’t lost to Fnatic once since January.
What’s more, Execration have won all of their last three head-to-head meetings with Fnatic, all with a clean sweep. Despite that, Execration enter this match as $2.39 underdogs, which doesn’t make much sense unless if you’re looking at this matchup with an ELO rating in mind.
Fnatic have made it through the Southeast Asian The international 10 qualifiers last month, which in theory makes them the second-best team in the region. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that they historically struggle against Execration.
GALAXY RACER vs T1 Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | GXR $2.29 at GG Bet | T1 $1.57 at GG Bet |
When: | August 12, 2021 at 17:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/BeyondTheSummit) |
?Galaxy Racer are 1-0 up in the head-to-head with T1, who they beat with 2-0 last Monday. T1 started the series strong and held a comfortable 5.1k gold lead 32 minutes in, but a couple of misplays turned the game upside down and allowed Galaxy Racer to steal the map.
GXR used the momentum and crushed T1 on the second map, where they needed just 29 minutes to seal the deal with a massive 22.2k gold lead. Despite their success last time out, Vincent “AlaCrity” Hiew Teck Yoong and co. enter this match as underdogs, largely due to T1’s high placement in the DPC standings.
T1 should win this match, but we don’t believe they’ll be as dominant as the latest Dota 2 betting odds suggest. We expect a close game that will go the distance.
TEAM SMG vs ARMY GENIUSES Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | SMG $1.27 at GG Bet | AG $3.49 at GG Bet |
When: | August 11, 2021 at 14:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/BeyondTheSummit) |
?Team SMG ended the group stage in fifth place with a 2-3-2 record and 7-7 map differential. Army Geniuses, on the other hand, finished last with only one win and one draw (1-1-5).
SMG last met with Army Geniuses on Friday, claiming a comfortable 2-0 win. SMG’s next game ended in a 2-0 upset win against Fnatic, whereas Army Geniuses lost all of their remaining three bouts against Fnatic, T1, and Neon without taking a map.
SMG might not be a very good team, but they should do fine against Army Geniuses. The latter haven’t produced anything that would inspire confidence and make us believe that they can put up a fight on Wednesday.
MOTIVATE.TRUST GAMING vs OB ESPORTS x NEON Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | MG.Trust $2.64 at GG Bet | Neon $1.44 at GG Bet |
When: | August 11, 2021 at 17:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/BeyondTheSummit) |
?Motivate.Trust Gaming enter the final stage of the Dota 2 BTS Pro Series with a 2-3-2 record from the group stage that includes two wins against T1 (2-0) and Army Geniuses (2-0) and two losses against Execration (0-2) and Galaxy Racer (0-2). OB Esports x Neon’s record is very similar (2-2-3), so there’s not much to set these two teams apart.
MG.Trust and Neon last met on Wednesday, when they settled for a draw. It was a closely contested match, but you could argue that Neon deserved to win more. They demolished MG.Trust in the series opener and held a 4.4k gold in game two but ended up choking.
Neon should win, but this is a very high price to pay for a team that hasn’t achieved much more than MG.Trust. Expect another close match with all three maps played.
G2 ESPORTS vs AGO CS:GO BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
CS:GO Betting Odds: | G2 $1.28 at GG Bet | AGO $3.81 at GG Bet |
CS:GO Betting Lines: | G2 -1.5 at $1.87 | AGO +1.5 at $1.87 |
When: | September 17, 2020 at 14:00 CEST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/esl_csgo) |
AGO are already eliminated from the ESL Pro League after losing four of their five games so far, whereas G2 Esports are 2-3 and still in contention for a playoffs spot.
G2 struggled last week when they lost to Heroic (1-2), ENCE (0-2) and BIG (1-2), while AGO dropped the ball against Natus Vincere (0-2) and ENCE (1-2). If we look at the results alone, it may seem like there is not a lot to set G2 apart from AGO; however, the quality gap is still fairly large.
G2 tend to underperform against weaker sides, but since this is a must-win match for them, we will trust the French squad to secure a perfect 2-0.
NATUS VINCERE vs HEROIC CS:GO BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
CS:GO Betting Odds: | NaVi $1.99 at GG Bet | Heroic $1.85 at GG Bet |

When: | September 17, 2020 at 17:30 CEST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/esl_csgo) |
As the esports betting odds would suggest, we are in for a close and exciting affair. Both sides have shown similar form, but we are leaning more towards the Danish roster.
Even though Heroic have had some iffy moments, including a 1-2 loss to AGO and three-map series against BIG (2-1) and GODSENT (2-1) last week, NaVi are in a far worse situation, and their narrow win against OG (2-1) on Sunday does not inspire much confidence.
Heroic are on the rise, while NaVi are losing momentum. We expect this trend to continue on Thursday.
TEAM VITALITY vs COMPLEXITY CS:GO BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|

CS:GO Betting Odds: | Vitality $2.14 at GG Bet | Complexity $1.73 at GG Bet |

Complexity Gaming are looking better and better with each passing day. While they dropped maps against Team Spirit (2-1) and Fnatic (2-1) last week, they are 4-0 and headed to the ESL Pro League playoffs.
While Team Vitality are not performing at the level many expected them to, they have their flashes of greatness from time to time. Those may be rare, but this team can be a deadly when everything falls into place.
We are not ready to believe Vitality can stop Complexity, but its highly likely they can force a three-map series.
GEN.G vs 100 THIEVES CS:GO BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Even though Gen.G won 27 rounds against Evil Geniuses on Saturday, their overall showings at the ESL Pro League have been mediocre at best C as shown in their 0-2 loss to Chaos Esports Club last week.
100 Thieves started their ESL Pro League campaign with losses to EG (0-2) and Team Liquid (1-2) but proved theyre the real deal with a commanding win over Chaos (2-0) last Thursday, restricting their opponents to only eight points in total.
These teams last met in mid-August during ESL One Cologne, where 100T won 2-1. We expect more of the same this Thursday, but with a much more one-sided scoreline.
TNC PREDATOR vs 496 GAMING DOTA 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | TNC $2.40 at GG Bet | Draw $2.13 | 496 $4.68 |
Dota 2 Betting Lines: | TNC -0.5 at $2.29 | 496 +0.5 at $1.57 |
When: | September 17, 2020 at 16:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/beyondthesummit) |
496 Gaming started their BTS Pro Series journey with a stalemate against Neon Esports (1-1) and a commanding win over Fnatic (2-0), but they slipped on Monday when they lost to Motivate.Trust Gaming (0-2). TNC Predator have seen far more success, producing a 3-1-0 record with a draw against BOOM Esports (1-1) and wins against NEW Esports (2-0), Fnatic (2-0) and Neon Esports (2-0).
TNC Predator have met with 496 Gaming six times and won each series, with a combined 12-3 map differential. Even though these two sides have not yet clashed in 2020, we like TNC better due to their recent resurgence in form. A draw is still a possibility, but the odds on the favourites are hard to ignore.
NEON ESPORTS vs MOTIVADE.TRUST GAMING DOTA 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | Neon $2.40 at GG Bet | Draw $2.15 | MTG $4.60 |
Dota 2 Betting Lines: | Neon -0.5 at $2.38 | MTG +0.5 at $1.53 |
When: | September 17, 2020 at 18:00 SGT |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/beyondthesummit) |
Motivade.Trust Gaming have picked up a few solid results this tournament, including a stalemate against Execration (1-1) and a convincing win over 496 Gaming (2-0). Even though they lost to Among Us (0-2) on Tuesday, Motivade.Trust held on surprisingly well against a stack assembled from some of the best players in the region.
Neon Esports have managed only one win from their four outings in the BTS Pro Series. That came against NEW Esports (2-0), while they failed to see the same success against 496 Gaming (1-1), BOOM Esports (0-2) and TNC Predator (0-2).
Due to Neon’s lack of consistency, it’s very difficult to understand why Motivade.Trust are priced at such high odds. Even though Neon defeated Motivade in each of their last four meetings, the underdogs are in much better form and look set to claim a revenge win.
TEAM UNIQUE vs TEAM EMPIRE DOTA 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | Unique $3.11 at GG Bet | Draw $2.19 | Empire $3.11 |

When: | September 17, 2020 at 14:00 CEST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/beyondthesummit) |
Usually, we would side with Team Empire for this matchup since they swept Team Unique just under a month ago during the OMEGA League. However, after seeing Empire’s performance against B8 (1-1), it’s difficult to view them as the favourites – even though we do not rank their next opponents very highly.
Unique are not a team we expect much from. Their form looks solid on paper, but they have played only three games across the last two weeks and are still somewhat shaky in execution. Both teams look a bit off, which is why we expect to see a 1-1 draw.
5MEN vs KHAN DOTA 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

5men lost both of their opening fixtures at BTS Pro Series against two tough opponents in mudgolem and Vikin.gg, but now Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard and co. can look for a few wins as they take on some weaker teams.
While we don’t expect 5men to go all the way at the BTS Pro Series due to their obvious lack of cohesion, they still field a very talented roster comprised of ex-Cloud9 and OG.Seed players.
5men have already defeated Alliance (2-1), Natus Vincere (2-0) and FlyToMoon (2-0) since forming only a month ago. While consistency is still a problem, they look solid enough to defeat Khan without any issues.
PSG.LGD vs TEAM ASTER DOTA 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

PSG.LGD and Team Aster will clash in the opening match of China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1, and it should be a much more one-sided fixture than the betting odds would lead us to believe.
PSG.LGD won four of their last five meetings between these two side. While Aster claimed a 2-0 win in their most recent bout at the start of July during DPL-CDA League S2, it’s hard to imagine we will see the same result here.
Both teams have been inactive for two months, so some ring rust is expected. Nevertheless, the odds offered on PSG.LGD are well worth taking.

?FaZe Clan are now 0-4 record in the ESL Pro League after their 0-2 loss to Team Vitality on Sunday. Team Spirit are 2-2 thanks to wins over Vitality (2-1) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-1), while they also looked decent in their 1-2 defeats against Fnatic and Complexity Gaming.
Spirit enter the match priced as the favourites, but their odds still seem a bit high. FaZe have yet to win a single map out of eight played, whereas Spirit have won at least one map in each of their four series. We have no problem trusting Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov and co. to deliver in this one.

?Team Vitality kept themselves in the playoff race with a clean sweep of FaZe Clan. On the other hand, Fnatic were underwhelming in their 1-2 loss to Complexity on Friday, when they managed to win only four rounds on the opening map, Mirage.
Fnatic and Vitality usually produce close affairs, but we expect to see a much more one-sided bout this time. Even though the French squad left a lot to be desired in their opening fixtures, they looked significantly better over the weekend and should have no issues winning in straight sets on Tuesday.
ASTRALIS vs NINJAS IN PYJAMAS CS:GO BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Astralis are slowly finding their form and starting to look like they can win this tournament. Ninjas in Pyjamas have also shown some improvement, although that has translated to only limited success.
After losing their opening match 0-2 against Complexity Gaming, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and co. won the next three against FaZe (2-0), Vitality (2-1) and mousesports (2-1). NiP lost their opening two against Vitality (1-2) and Complexity (0-2), won against mousesports (2-1) and lost their most recent bout with Spirit (1-2).
Astralis are in significantly better form than their Scandinavian rivals and seem like the most likely victors. Since this is an online match, however, there is a good chance NiP could snatch a map and cover the line.

Triumph are not the same team since Michael “Grim” Wince left for Team Liquid. While Chaos Esports Club are dealing with similar issues after the departure of in-game leader Joshua “steel” Nissan, they’re still playing surprisingly well.
Last week Chaos crushed Gen.G (2-0) and before that took Team Liquid to three maps (1-2). Meanwhile, Triumph lost against FURIA (0-2) and Cloud9 (0-2), failing to win more than three rounds in three out of four maps played.
This match has ‘stomp’ written all over it. We don’t see how Triumph can win a map, let alone the series.
NEW ESPORTS vs EXECRATION DOTA 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

After two days of play, NEW Esports hold a 1-1 record which includes a disappointing 0-2 loss to TNC Predator and an incredible 2-0 win against Fnatic. Execration played two stalemates against 032 and Motivate.Trust Gaming – not terrible results, but not good either.
These teams met twice during the Elite Competition in July, when Execration won 2-1 and 3-0. Despite that, it’s NEW Esports who enter this match as favourites, likely due to their shock win against Fnatic.
Even though Execration have cooled down since their last meeting with NEW, Karl “Karl” Jayme and co. should force a draw and keep their undefeated head-to-head record intact.

TNC Predator drew their opening game of the tournament against BOOM Esports and added a convincing 2-0 win against NEW Esports. Neon Esports opened with a stalemate 496 Gaming, but they went down 0-2 against BOOM on Sunday.
Out of seven meetings with Neon in 2020, Park “March” Tae-won and co. won two series, drew two and lost three, albeit with a tight 7-8 map differential. TNC also defeated Neon 2-1 less than two weeks ago at ESL One Thailand 2020 Asia.
TNC Predator are not performing at the level they did in 2019, but they are clearly improving. As long as they can continue playing at the level they have been showing of late, this will be their game to lose.

Khan managed a 1-1 stalemate against mudgolems and a 2-0 win against B8 in their opening two games. Ninjas in Pyjamas have played only one match so far, producing a convincing 2-0 win against B8.
NiP are 4-6 from their last 10 fixtures and 3-3 across the last two weeks. Khan hold a 5-1-4 record in their last 10 and have a 3-1-1 record since the start of the month. Even though Khan’s record looks better, they’ve played mostly weaker sides and tend to struggle when facing stronger teams.
This was seen at the start of September when NiP swept Khan in the OMEGA League. The favourites will fancy their chances, and so should you.

Even though Team Empire have not done much since they finished as runners-up at Arena of Blood Season 2 in July, its very difficult to trust B8 to produce an upset following their poor performances in the opening stages of this competition.
B8 have already lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas, Vikin.gg and Khan, all in clean sweeps. While we can respect the resistance this team are showing, they’ve now lost nine of their last 10 matches.
The only thing working against Empire here is that they have been on a break for two weeks, but we dont see how that is important when facing a team they beat in August who have a 24% win rate across 127 games.
While Geek Fam entered the tournament as one of the stronger teams in the field, they were far from favourites to lift the trophy. The road to the top was tough with Fnatic, Neon Esports, BOOM Esports and Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) leaders TNC Predator all in attendance, but Carlo “KuKu” Palad and his crew delivered when it mattered and pocketed US $21,000 in tournament winnings.
In the group stage, Geek Fam defeated Cignal Ultra (2-0), Team Adroit (2-0), Execration (2-0) and Neon Esports (2-0), drew with BOOM Esports (1-1), Reality Rift (1-1), TNC Predator (1-1), T1 (1-1), and lost to Fnatic (0-2). That 4-4-1 record was enough to book a spot in the upper bracket of the playoffs, where KuKu and co. switched into a higher gear and produced a remarkable run to the grand finals.
In the opening round of the playoffs, Geek Fam faced Fnatic, who defeated them just two days prior, but that did not stop GF from entering the match with confidence. After losing the opening map, Geek Fam overpowered the SEA juggernauts with a 2-1 reverse sweep to punch a ticket for the upper bracket finals. There, they faced the surging BOOM Esports, who took the first map but went down 26-16 and 25-4 on the next two.
BOOM then disposed of Fnatic (2-0) in the lower bracket to set up a rematch with Geek Fam in the best-of-five (Bo5) grand final series. Alfi “Khezcute” Nelphyana and his men entered the clash as favourites but proved no match for Geek Fam, who showed no struggle en route to a clean sweep win.

BOOM Esports entered the first game of the finals with a very mobile and roam-heavy draft that allowed them to keep pace with Geek Fam for the first 30 minutes, at which point GF took the reins and charged towards the first win of the series.
Khezcute and co. took an early lead in the second game, but Marc Polo Luis Raven Faustos Morphling tore them apart once he got his hands on Ethereal Blade. Raven ended the game with a perfect 15/0/5 score and showed once more why he is the team’s main carry.
After suffering two crushing defeats, BOOM Esports’ spirit was broken, as clearly seen in their approach to the third and final game of the series. Although they were somewhat competitive for the first 15 minutes, KuKu and his team proved to be too much to handle as Raven on Troll Warlord put on another standout display to finish with a 12/1/8 record.
The BTS Pro Series S2: SEA title is just the latest in a series of successes for Geek Fam this year. Other noteworthy tournament placements include a runner-up finish at ESL SEA Championship 2020, third-place finishes at WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, BTS Pro Series S1 and ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Southeast Asia, as well as a gold medal from Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series – SEA.
Geek Fam are currently competing at the Asia Summer Championship, while theyre scheduled to take their first steps at the ONE Esports Dota2 SEA League next Saturday when they face Neon Esports in the second week of the competition.
]]>The opening round of the ESL One Birmingham 2020 Southeast Asia playoffs will see Geek Fam lock horns with Team Adroit in a rematch of their meeting in the group stage last Sunday.
Having won that clash 2-0, Geek Fam will enter this match with high confidence. Although Adroit looked to be in a better spot for a short period of time on the first map, the final scores show the real picture. Geek Fam won the opening game with a 44-22 kill differential and 18.6k net worth advantage, to which they added 31-11 kill and 15.5k gold leads on the second map.
Besides their dominant win over Adroit, Geek Fam also took down the struggling TNC Predator (2-0) and Reality Rift (2-0) in the group stage. It wasn’t all roses, however, as they lost to BOOM Esports (1-2) and Fnatic (0-2) to take a 3-2 record into the playoffs.
Geek Fam entered ESL One Birmingham straight after winning Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series – SEA, where they secured a perfect 6-0 record and lost only one map out of 14 played. While a remarkable achievement on paper, Carlo “KuKu” Palad and co. did not face any notable opponents besides Cignal Ultra, who were the only team to force GF into a three-map series.

Team Adroit were very disappointing towards the end of the group stage at ESL One Birmingham. They started the tournament with wins over Fnatic (2-1), TNC (2-0) and Reality Rift (2-0), but Marvin “Boombacs” Rushton and co. fell flat against Geek Fam (0-2) and BOOM Esports (1-2) on the final two days. Their recent two results fail to inspire much confidence, but we don’t find it fair to criticise Adroit on two results alone.
Although this team has the tendency to occasionally drop the ball (which is somewhat justifiable in online fixtures), Adroit have shown before they are not a bad team. That is especially the case against Geek Fam, who they have already defeated three times this year.
Furthermore, Adroit defeated Fnatic a week ago and stole a map off the SEA titans in BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia a month ago, so it’s fair to say Boombacs and his team can be potent if given a chance.
Geek Fam enter this match as massive favourites on the back of their win in this matchup a few days ago. That overrates them a bit, and it’s hard to understand how are Team Adroit priced as high as $2.62 to win.
While Geek Fam stomped Adroit on Sunday, we must also consider that these teams have met five times since the start of the year. Three of those contests ended in favour of Adroit, who hold a 8-6 aggregate map score against GF in 2020.
Because Adroit have lost some of the momentum they had at the start of the tournament, it’s hard to back them in outright. But online fixtures are often unpredictable and Adroit match up nicely with Geek Fam, so we are confident the Filipinos can win at least one map and force the series to three.
