Asia RMR

The MongolZ, as expected, were favourites to advance, and they did so in style, defeating Alter Ego and DRILLAS to qualify for their third consecutive Counter-Strike Major.

Though they dropped a map to DRILLAS, they still lived up to their reputation as the team to beat, showing why theyre a top contender.

Rare Atom delivered an impressive performance to join The MongolZ in qualifying, especially as this Major is being held in China, marking a home-field advantage.

Their path through GR Gaming and TALON wasnt the toughest, but they made the most of it, with standout performances from Andrew kaze Khong, who clutched a 1v3 on Vertigo to seal their 13-8 win.

Rare Atoms victory also ensures a Chinese team will be present on the Shanghai stage, keeping local fans engaged.

Meanwhile, DRILLAS, the team backed by streamer ohnePixel, saw some surprising success, surviving the opening round with a win over Lynn Vision and taking a map from The MongolZ.

However, they fell in the upper bracket, setting up a crucial lower-bracket match against FlyQuest.

DRILLAS’ journey has been an entertaining storyline, especially with ohnePixel cheering them on.

TALON now faces Lynn Vision in the lower bracket semifinals, and the winner will face either FlyQuest or DRILLAS to fight for the last Major spot.

Americas RMR

In the Americas RMR, both Team Liquid and FURIA Esports navigated early challenges.

Liquid bounced back from an opening loss to Wildcard with a dominant 13-2 win over KR Esports, while FURIA recovered from a shaky start to beat Case Gaming.

Both teams remain in the 1-1 bracket, and fans will be watching closely to see if they can regain their form as the tournament progresses.

The real standout from the Americas RMR so far has been Wildcard.

With Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek and Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz leading the charge, Wildcard has pulled off impressive victories, including a 13-10 win over paiN Gaming and a comeback against Liquid.

With two wins under their belt, Wildcard only needs one more to secure a Major spot, with their next challenge against 9z Team.

9z, another underdog, has shown surprising strength, dominating RED Canids and Legacy.

With two wins, they join Wildcard, Complexity, and MIBR in the 2-0 bracket, meaning theyll also have multiple chances to reach the Major.

Complexity and MIBR are holding strong in the 2-0 bracket after a nail-biting overtime win for Complexity and a solid showing from MIBRs Raphael “exit” Lacerda and Rafael “saffee” Costa.

Meanwhile, teams like RED Canids, Nouns, Case, and KR find themselves in elimination territory after failing to secure wins on day one, facing an uphill battle to stay in contention.

With multiple upsets, standout performances from lesser-known teams, and returning veterans, the PW Shanghai Major RMRs are shaping up to be an exciting lead-up to one of the most anticipated CS2 tournaments of the year.

With a double-elimination format, eight top Counter-Strike 2 teams compete for the four available slots at the Major.

The tournaments opening day saw several high-stakes best-of-one matches, and the event now advances into its best-of-three phase, raising the strategic demands on each team.

The MongolZ and DRILLAS opened their RMR campaigns with impressive performances, securing spots in the upper bracket’s next round.

The MongolZ outclassed Alter Ego on Ancient, especially dominating on the counter-terrorist side and neutralising Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinands squad.

Meanwhile, DRILLAS overcame tech issues to beat Lynn Vision 13-11 in a tense match on Ancient.

DRILLAS led 7-5 at halftime, but Lynn Vision mounted a comeback, nearly turning the game in their favour.

Ultimately, DRILLASs aggressive strategies prevailed, with Vladyslav “Kvem” Korolj earning MVP honours, while Wang “afufu” Jianye was Lynn Visions top-rated player.

Elsewhere, Rare Atom decisively defeated GR 13-4 on Anubis.

Rare Atoms consistent control, particularly from MVP Xu “somebody” Haowen with an impressive 1.62 rating, left GR struggling to respond.

GR’s standout player, Arkadii “SALO_MUX” Balanda, fought hard, earning an EVP rating of 1.27.

TALON also moved forward by defeating FlyQuest 13-9 on Inferno.

TALONs Corey “nettik” Browne, with a rating of 1.51, delivered a balanced performance, while FlyQuests Declan “Vexite” Portelli kept the match competitive with a strong showing and a 1.07 rating.

DRILLAS will face The MongolZ in a best-of-three in the upper bracket, testing both teams adaptability across multiple maps.

Rare Atom will take on TALON, with each team aiming to secure one of the two qualifying spots up for grabs.

The lower bracket features elimination matches as Alter Ego battles Lynn Vision and GR meets FlyQuest, with the losing teams facing elimination from the RMR.

Meanwhile, the Perfect World Shanghai Major Amercias RMR will begin on Tuesday, with each of the 16 North and South American teams battling it out for seven Opening Stage spots.

FURIA ESPORTS vs LEGACY CS2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: FURIA $1.41 at GG Bet | Legacy $2.80 at GG Bet
When: November 12, 2024 | 12:00 CST
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/pgl)

FURIA Esports are one of the leading candidates to qualify for the Shanghai Major. They looked excellent at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024 last month, with wins against FaZe Clan, MOUZ, and Natus Vincere, although it is not uncommon to see FURIA have promising tournament runs only to fall apart shortly after.

Legacy have not accomplished anything nearly as impressive in top-tier events this season, and they did not make it very far in their most recent competitive endeavour at ESL Challenger Katowice 2024. However, Legacy showed a pulse at Thunderpick World Championship 2024 and know their opponents well.

Team Liquid had a rough run through Intel Extreme Masters Rio and BLAST Premier World Final 2024, going 1-4 across the two tournaments. North Americas No.1 side have since not played a match, but the long break might be what they needed to get back on track.

Despite Liquids shaky showings last month, they are the superior team in this contest. Wildcard are 0-3 down in the head-to-head standings, and their performances at ESL Challenger League Season 48 North America last month are reason enough to doubt their chances of winning on Tuesday.

Best Odds: COL $1.32 at GG Bet | BESTIA $3.27 at GG Bet

Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/pgl)

Complexity are expected to cruise through the Perfect World Major Americas RMR, priced at $1.40 on the outright markets with the best Counter-Strike betting sites. But it is tough to make a strong case for a team who have played just three series since the start of October.

BESTIA have not been too active lately, but they performed well at Thunderpick World Championship 2024 two weeks ago, when they defeated M80 twice and added a competitive 1-2 loss against 3DMAX.

Complexity are rusty and one of the more inconsistent teams in the region. At the offered betting odds, BESTIA are an excellent outsider pick.

PaiN Gaming have proven their worth in the latter half of the 2024 season. They played competitive games against the worlds elite teams at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024 and added a semifinal run at ESL Challenger Katowice 2024 at the end of October.

Nouns Esports only accomplishments have come in C-Tier events. Their early exits from CCT Season 2 North American Series #3 and ESL Challenger League Season 48 North America are better indications of how they might do in the RMR.

Dont expect any surprises on Tuesday. PaiN Gaming should roll over Nouns.

Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/pgl)

9z Team lost to RED Canids twice in May and June, but they are expected to do well on Tuesday. The Brazilians have had a chance to get ready by playing tougher opponents at IEM Rio 2024, Elisa Masters Espoo 2024, and Thunderpick World Championship 2024, although they went 1-6 over those three events.

RED Canids have not appeared in any top-tier tournaments since ESL Pro League Season 20 and have been inconsistent at ESL Challenger League Season 48 South America. However, they have picked up a few wins and are worth a look for this series at plus money.

When: November 12, 2024 | 14:00 CST
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/pgl)

Priced at $3.94 with esports bookmakers, BOSS might have some followers simply because they beat M80 once last month during ESL Challenger League Season 48 North America. But as M80’s 13-1 victory in the rematch suggests, that result was nothing more than a fluke.

M80 will not make the same mistake on Tuesday and let Ancient slip through the ban phase. That would leave BOSS with only Mirage, where they are not too effective.

MiBR will face off against KRU Esports for the first time since ESL Challenger League Season 48 South America in October, when they won with 13-11 on Ancient and 13-2 on Nuke. According to the latest betting odds, the Brazilian squad should be just as successful on Tuesday.

While MiBR have a higher ceiling than KRU, they are rusty, so it is hard to justify betting on them at this number. Take KRU at the round handicap.

Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/pgl)

This should be the most one-sided game of the opening round of the Perfect World Major Americas RMR, and the odds at GG Bet reflect that.

Imperial Esports have not looked the greatest in October, finishing fifth-sixth at ESL Challenger League Season 48 South America and fifth-eighth at Thunderpick World Championship 2024. But they have accomplished a lot more than Case Esports this season.

With a more experienced lineup and a substantially better win rate on all maps except for Ancient, Imperial Esports should stomp South Americas 13th-ranked team.

The Asia, Americas and Europe (A) Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events for the CS2 Perfect World Shanghai Major will kick off this week.

Meanwhile, the BLAST R6 Major Montreal and PUBG Mobile Global Championship will continue, with the group stages of both tournaments taking place throughout the week.

  • Perfect World Shangai Major RMR

The Asia RMR will be the first of the events to kick off on Monday, with eight CS2 squads set to compete over three days for three Opening Stage spots at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

The MongolZ and FlyQuest are expected to qualify for the Major; however, any of the other six teams could snatch the final spot.

Beginning the following day, the Americas RMR is expected to be one of the most competitive, with 16 teams from North and South America clashing for seven places in the Opening Stage.

Esports betting sites have very little separating the top six in “To Qualify” betting, with Team Liquid ($1.25), FURIA Esports ($1.30), paiN Gaming ($1.33), Complexity ($1.40), MIBR ($1.53) and Imperial Esports ($1.53) all rated strong chances to advance to the Major.

The third RMR that will start on Sunday, November 17, will be for the 16 teams that are engaged in the Europe A event.

Natus Vincere, Team Vitality, MOUZ and FaZe Clan appear to be the top four hopes to advance to the Major, with seven spots up for grabs in the Opening Stage.

Check out our extensive Perfect World Shangai Major betting guide to get the latest odds and tournament information.

  • PUBG Mobile Global Championship

With Group Yellow and Group Red completing their group stage fixtures, Group Green is the only one left to play their opening set of PUBG Mobile Global Championship matches from November 14-17.

Following the final group games, the Survival Stage will kick off on Wednesday, November 20 and run through November 22.

Alpha 7 Esports, DRX, Guild Esports, Natus Vincere, Nemiga Galaxy, Team Spirit and Tong Jia Bao Esports have already booked their spots in the Grand Finals, following top three finishes in their respective groups.

  • BLAST R6 Major Montreal 2024

After G2 Esports, Team Falcons, Chiefs Esports Club and Black Dragons qualified for Phase 2 of the BLAST R6 Major Montreal, the second phase of the tournament kicked off on Sunday, November 10.

Each of the 16 Rainbow Six Siege squads played their first two matches of the Swiss Stage, which is scheduled to run until Wednesday, November 13, before the playoffs begin on Friday, November 15.

The MongolZ are the leading favourites to win the Asia-Pacific RMR and qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. So, it is easy to understand why the top Counter-Strike betting sites are giving the Mongolian side a 91.7% implied probability of winning the series.

The MongolZ have dominated the regional scene for the past two years and left a positive impression in some European tournaments. They placed second at Skyesports Championship 2024 in July and won Thunderpick World Championship 2024 earlier this month.

Alter Ego have shown some signs of life over the last two months. Still, besides beating lesser domestic opponents in the South-east Asian qualifiers, Gan-Erdene “dobu” Batbold and co. have done hardly enough to be considered a threat for The MongolZ.

DRILLAS came together in August and have since managed a 59.1% win rate, competing only in second-division European tournaments. So, while they field some known names from the tier-one scene, DRILLAS are still unproven.

Lynn Vision Gaming are the fourth-highest-ranked team in Asia, with experience facing European squads. In September, they attended ESL Pro League Season 20 and CCT Season 2 European Series #12, and while both ended in early eliminations, Lynn Vision have some decent results against tougher opponents.

DRILLAS have a higher ceiling than the Chinese outfit, but they have yet to prove their worth and are not a good pick at this price in a best-of-one series.

Rare Atom defeated GR Gaming in February, and the rematch should end no differently. Cai “Summer” Yulun and co. are not in the best shape ahead of the Shanghai Major 2024 RMR, with one win from their last five fixtures and defeats against Johnny Speeds, Endpoint, and Spirit Academy (twice).

But excluding their fixtures against European sides, Rare Atom are 7-3, and their only three losses over that stretch came against TYLOO. GR Gaming have managed the same record, with most of those victories coming against lesser opponents, including SayGGTeam, -72C, and Chinggis Warriors.

GR Gaming have not had a proper chance to be tested ahead of the RMR, and in games where they faced more challenging opponents, such as TYLOO, they fell apart. So, while Rare Atom can be a bit up and down, this is their game to lose.

TALON looked good at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: Oceanic Qualifier in August, but they have not shown much since, with early exits from CCT Season 2 Europe Series #13 and Shuffle Masters #2. Moreover, Oceania’s no.7 have not played a match since September.

FlyQuest enter this match with more achievements under their belt, with back-to-back titles in October at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2024 and ESL Challenger League Season 48: Oceania. But, like TALON, they have been out of action for a while.

Both squads are a bit rusty, which does not help make a case for FlyQuest as heavy favourites. However, Christopher “dexter” Nong and co. have proven to be highly efficient in running over any regional opponents, and this match should be no exception.

This win marks a significant morale boost for the team after several challenging months, and it ends a long international trophy drought for Australian Counter-Strike that stretched back to the SL i-League Invitational Shanghai in 2017.

“It’s pretty insane,” said Christopher “?dexter?” Nong after the match.

“It’s a huge accomplishment for the scene. It’s everything I could wish for.”

One of the standout performances came from Alistair “?aliStair?” Johnston, who had been under scrutiny for his recent form but silenced his critics with a dominant showing on Dust2, posting a 1.57 rating.

Reflecting on his performance, the Australian AWPer said, “The boys are always pushing me forward, never putting me down or blaming me.

“I’m glad I could show a good performance for them today. They have always had my back.”

FlyQuests unbeaten tournament run now serves as motivation for the rest of the season, with their next major challenge being the Perfect World Shanghai Major Asia RMR, scheduled for November 11-13 in Shanghai.

The grand final kicked off on Ancient, BIGs map pick, where a 1v3 clutch from Karim “?Krimbo?” Moussa gave them an early advantage.

However, FlyQuest took control after stabilising their economy, going on a 10-0 run to close the half.

Though BIG mounted a comeback in the second half, FlyQuests surprise eco-round victory shifted momentum, allowing them to secure the map despite Krimbos heroics.

The second map, Vertigo, was a nail-biter, going into overtime.

BIG, after a poor counter-terrorist side, managed to hit map point at 12-10.

FlyQuest fought back to force overtime, but BIG claimed the map after a crucial 1v2 clutch from Florian “?syrsoN?” Rische.

The series was ultimately decided on Dust2.

FlyQuest built a commanding 9-3 lead with a stellar counter-terrorist performance.

BIG mounted a strong comeback after the switch, narrowing the deficit to a single round.

But in a pivotal moment, aliStair pulled off a quad-kill in a 2v4 situation, turning the tide and sealing the championship for FlyQuest.

After months of disappointing results, FlyQuests victory at ESL Challenger Atlanta 2024 signals a resurgence for Australian CS.

The team walks away with a $50,000 prize and a spot at ESL Pro League Season 21.

This hard-fought win may not have been clean, but for these players, it represents their first major Counter-Strike trophy (with the exception of dexter), and theyll savour the accomplishment.

For aliStair, in particular, this tournament was a breakthrough.

After facing criticism for underperformance, his heroics on Dust2where he delivered clutch after clutchplayed a key role in FlyQuest’s triumph.

If he can maintain this level of play, FlyQuest could make a serious impact at larger events in the future.
