The New York Subliners (NYSL), the American Call of Duty League (CDL) esports team to re-evaluate themselves ahead of Major 3.

NYSL has taken to its Twitter page to announce that the organization will be having open trials for both the current roster and new players as they look to rebuild.

The organization will be looking to assess its players’ individual performance and in-game chemistry. The re-evaluation is to be carried out in search of the perfect fit for the team in the nearest future.

The press statement was released yesterday as the mid-season break commences. The NYSL look to readjust their team to give them a better fighting chance ahead of the Major 3.

“This mid season break gives us time to re-evaluate ourselves as Major 3 approaches.

“Starting today, we’re going to committed to open trials involving our current roster and new players.

“There will be an assessment of individual performance and in-game synergy among players to determine the best fit going forward.

“Thank you to all who support us through thick and thin.

“More details on our roster as open trials come to a conclusion.”

History of the New York Subliners (NYSL)

The New York Subliners professional Call of Duty esports team was founded on May 2, 2019, with NYXL as the parent company.

NYXL esports organization, in turn, is owned by Sterling Equities a subsidiary of Sterling VC. They are also co-founded by the New York Mets, owners of the Overwatch League team, New York Excelsior.

Their current roster consists of James “Clayster” Eubanks, Ian “Crimsix” Porter, Paco “Hydra” Rusiewiez, Travis “Neptune” McCloud, Paul “PaulEhx” Avila, and John “Revan” Boble. Their entry into the CDL with a veteran roster led by Tommy ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto had the team outlined for greatness.

But these expectations were short-lived as the team couldn’t get into winning ways at the Launch Weekend.

They were defeated by London Royal Ravens and Atlanta FaZe, winning only a map in both encounters.

While the Subliners secured a victory over Paris Legion, they were overwhelmed by the home team London Royal Ravens, forcing them into the Group B losers bracket. A rematch fixture with the Legion was not in the books, as the NYSL lost to their French counterparts.

Their inconsistencies and underwhelming performances saw their first roster change made with the signing of Makenzie “Mack” Kelley.

Mack got the team inspired and driven as they bested the favorite Chicago Huntsmen in a week 6 fixture, sweeping the huntsmen. But they are yet to live up to the expectations, finishing 5th in the league overall. They will be looking to make good of the Major 3.
