The post SumaiL returns to Nigma Galaxy Dota 2 roster appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>SumaiL initially joined Nigma Galaxy in May 2022 after a short and unsuccessful stint with Team Secret. With SumaiL on the roster, Nigma Galaxy returned to the top division of DPC WEU 2021/2022 but failed to win anything at the highest level.
A long dry streak led to more roster changes, with coach Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza, Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf, and SumaiL removed from the active lineup. After he was benched in May this year, SumaiL joined Team Aster on loan and stayed with the Chinese outfit for six months.
With Team Aster, SumaiL placed top eight at ESL One Berlin Major 2023 and won a bronze medal in DPC CN 2023 Tour 3: Division I. Unfortunately, his stint in China ended in August when Aster crashed out of The International 2023 China Qualifier in fifth-sixth place.
Since leaving Aster, SumaiL has attended just one professional Dota 2 tournament, BetBoom Dacha, as a replacement for Armel “Armel” Tabios at Team Secret. While SumaiL again came short of winning a trophy, he helped his former team claim a bronze medal.
SumaiL rejoins Nigma Galaxy at a difficult time.
On Wednesday, the team released Yuma “Yuma” Langlet, Kasra “Mikey” Mesbah, and Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov. Just hours later, Maroun “GH” Merhej announced that he was taking a break from competitive play for the foreseeable future.
This left Nigma Galaxy with just two players: captain Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi, who was rumoured to retire before the 2024 season, and Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi, who has been inactive since he stepped down from the roster in December 2022 due to health issues.
While the departure of Miracle- came as a shock, Nigma Galaxy were expected to make drastic changes ahead of the 2024 season. Since Miracle-, GH, MinD_ContRoL, and KuroKy formed the squad after leaving Team Liquid, Nigma Galaxy haven’t accomplished much.
While they were always on the cusp of establishing themselves as one of the top European sides, Nigma Galaxy have yet to win an S-Tier event. Their lacklustre performances became even more noticeable in 2023 when Nigma dropped to the second division for DPC WEU 2023 Tour 3 for the second year and ended the season with no tournament titles.

]]>The news comes days after Nigma Galaxy parted ways with Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf. It also puts an end to speculations concerning the return of Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi to Nigma Galaxy’s lineup.
SumaiL was loaned to Team Aster earlier this week following his impressive performance with the Chinese lineup at the ESL One Berlin Major 2023. He will remain with the team until The International 2023 later this year.
Mikey and Yuma join Nigma Galaxy ahead of division two of the Western European Dota Pro Circuit as midlane and carry players, respectively.
Mikey made a name for himself in December last year when he held the No. 1 spot in Dota 2’s European ranked ladder. His impressive performances led several teams, like Entity, to request him as a substitute for players during tournaments.
Mikey went on to play as a stand-in for Shopify Rebellion (SR) during the DreamLeague season 19 earlier this year, earning nothing but praise for his amazing efforts. His consistent gameplay helped the team reach a third-place finish and win $120,000 despite an underwhelming start to the event.
Nigma’s second newest addition, Yuma, was previously a part of the D1 Hustlers lineup that qualified for the Upper Division of WEU DPC. The squad have competed in both Europe and North America in the past year.
The player’s teammates revealed that Yuma decided to sign with a new squad after they faced difficulties finding an organization.
Nigma Galaxy’s updated lineup consists of Yuma, Mikey, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi and Maroun “GH” Merhej.
The organization’s two new players come after the team’s disappointing performances in past events. Hopefully, with the new talents, the team will make their long-awaited comeback to the Dota 2 competitive scene.
Nigma Galaxy will debut their new lineup in the Lower Division of WEU DPC following their move in Tour 2. The team previously lost the tiebreakers for 6-8 place to Monaspa and Entity.

]]>With the conclusion of the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, several organizations have begun making changes to their lineup. Players are also on the prowl for more lucrative contracts with other organizations.
Nigma Galaxy have been reorganizing their lineup in a bid to end their poor performance in the DPC and, in the process, secure promotion to the DPC Division I. The organization previously announced that they had placed midlaner Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan on the bench.
SumaiL, who played with Team Aster in the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, was retained by the Chinese organization until the conclusion of The International 2023 towards the end of the year.
While Dota 2 Majors Registration Page showed that ATF was no longer a part of the team, neither Nigma Galaxy nor ATF have released an official statement.
If the player actually leaves Nigma Galaxy, the Dota 2 squad will have their three core players left, Maroun “GH” Merhej, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, and Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi.
ATF started playing with Nigma Galaxy in place of Amer Miracle- Al-Barkawi following the conclusion of The International 11 (TI11). While widely known for his prowess as an off-laner, the player switched to the role of a safelaner in Nigma and excelled at it.
The squad did not record any significant improvement in Tour 1 of the DPC 2023 despite the roster change and finished in sixth place. Nigma was placed even lower on Tour 2 at eighth and was eventually moved to Division II.
ATF was benched ahead of the DreamLeague S19 season after attempts to improve his role swaps and changes in playstyle failed. Nigma signed Amer Miracle- Al-Barkawi in his place but continued facing difficulties in events.

]]>SumaiL has been a big part of Nigma Galaxy since he joined in May 2022 and is a known player in the Dota 2 scene. Prior to his stint with Nigma Galaxy, the player competed in top-tier squads like Evil Geniuses, OG, and Team Secret and is on his way to Team Aster.
Nigma Galaxy announced the roster change via Twitter shortly after the close of the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, where SumaiL competed under Team Asters banner.
Despite the language barrier, SumaiL helped the Chinese team reach a top-eight finish in the tournament and acquire the required DPC points. His impressive performance during the Major caught the attention of fans and Team Aster, who decided to retain him for longer as part of their lineup.
Team Aster were previously on the hunt for a mid-laner and expressed interest in SumaiL, so the move is suitable for them. The Berlin Major showed Team Aster that the player would be a suitable fit for the team, leading to SumaiLs signing.
Team Aster announced their new player via the organizations official Weibo account, where they revealed that SumaiL would remain on their lineup until The International 2023 (TI12) later this year.
Team Aster also stated that SumaiL and Nigma Galaxy were yet to decide if the player would continue with them following the conclusion of The International 2023 or sign with another team.
While Chinese Dota 2 teams have signed players from Southeast Asia on a number of occasions, the region has barely any record of signing European players. Dominik Black^ Reitmeier is one of the few known European players in Dota 2 history to have joined all-Chinese squads.
With SumaiL as part of their lineup Team Aster currently consists of SumaiL, Du Monet Peng, Lin Xxs Jing, Ye BoBoKa Zhibiao, and Yu Ƥ Yajun.

OG lost their opening Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) match of the 2023 season on Monday when they had to admit defeat to Tundra Esports (0-2). But despite kicking off the new season with a loss, OG played well and looked very competitive on the first map.
It’s not fair to make any conclusions after just one series, but we liked what we saw from OG, who displayed strong teamwork. But most importantly, the newest signing Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin seems to have fit in with the team well.
Team Secret had a rough start to the 2023 season. They looked completely lost against Team Liquid, which likely had to do with Micha? “Nisha” Jankowski who knows how to defeat Team Secret. Still, even with that in mind, we have a hard time defending Secret’s display.
It’s hard to criticise Secret after just one game, but we can safely say that OG looked better on Monday. At even odds, Secret would be the right play, but $2.25 on OG offers solid value.

Tundra Esports took no prisoners on Monday when they defeated OG (2-0) with a very clean performance. We already know what we can expect from Tundra in the opening DPC tour of 2023, but we don’t know much about Nigma Galaxy.
Despite struggling in 2022, Nigma Galaxy decided to keep most of its roster intact C adding just Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf as a replacement for Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi. Some might disagree, but this wasn’t a bad call, as we don’t feel Nigma Galaxy had to change much to be competitive.
They had their ups and downs, but this is a stacked roster, which can pop off – and likely will if ATF fits in with his new teammates.
As the Dota 2 betting odds suggest, Tundra Esports should win, but we have high expectations for Nigma Galaxy, who are good enough to win a map or even upset the reigning The International champions.

]]>The post Nigma Galaxy signs Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>“He’s here! Please welcome @AmmarAlassaf6 to our #NGXdota roster,” the team announced.
This new addition has come in as a result of a recent report that revealed Amer “Miracle” Al-Barkawi, who is a member of the Dota 2 team, will be absent from the competitive scene for a while. Hence, a replacement was needed, which led to the acquisition of ATF.
“I have decided that it’s time for me to go on a break from competitive play to take care of health issues. You will be seeing more of me behind the scenes supporting and helping the team,” Miracle wrote.
Prior to the addition, fans of Nigma Galaxy had already stipulated that ATF, who at the time was an inactive player in OG, was a perfect fit to substitute Miracle. This is because ATF revealed to the public that he was looking to explore a new team.
ATF is one of the relatively youngest players in the esports team, yet he has been breaking records and making quite an impressive run at events. The 17-year-old offlaner was one of the youngest players to qualify for the first season of the Europe DPC Lower Division. And this he achieved while representing the European team Creepwave in 2021.
The Jordanian offlaner has made quite an impressive run representing OG in both the domestic and international scene. The team qualified for the 2022 The International, although they were only able to find a seventh-eighth place. ATF and OG also came in first place at the 2022 ESL One Stockholm, and at this years PGL Arlington, the team surfaced in fourth place. ATF had only spent a one-year stint with OG before switching to Nigma Galaxy, which is quite understandable as he only debuted his pro career in early 2021.
OG also took out their time to wish the player farewell, acknowledging that they departed on mutual grounds.
“What an adventure it has been. Today marks the official departure of Ammar from OG. It has been an honor to work with him this year & see him grow into one of the best players in the scene.A young star that will for sure beam in the ranks of Nigma Galaxy. Thank you, Ammar!” OG wrote.
The Nigma Galaxy roster now includes German support player Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi, Pakistani carry player Syed “SumaiL” Hassan, Lebanon support player Maroun “GH” Merhej, Bulgarian offlaner Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, and their new head coach Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza, who will be coaching them in the 2023 season.

]]>The post Miracle- to miss DPC 2023 for Nigma Galaxy due to health issues appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>“For the upcoming DPC season, @NigmaMiracle has decided to go on a break to deal with health issues and will not be on our active roster,” the team wrote.
This news is coming at a very sensitive time when teams are looking to complete their rosters due to the short time before the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) kicks off.
This is not the first time the Jordanian-Polish player will be taking a break due to health issues. In 2021 he missed a WePlay Esports AniMajor playoff match, and he also skipped ESL One Malaysia this year.
Miracle- has been with the European Dota 2 team since November 2019, and prior to his signing with the team, he had played for Team Liquid, Balkan Bears, and OG. His absence will be a loss for the team, as he is a notable player in the Dota 2 competitive scene.
The 25-year-old was the second player to win The International as well as two Valve Majors tournaments. At TI6 he had the highest average kills per game (9.89), and he bettered that mark at TI8 (10.80). The carry and solo middle player was also named the Esports Rookie of the Year at the 2016 Esports Industry Awards, and the following year he bagged the Esports PC Player of the Year.
Miracle has had a streak of success with all the teams he has represented. Helped OG to first place in the 2015 Frankfurt Major, and the following year they won the 2016 Manila Major and ESL One Frankfurt. Miracle replicated that with Team Liquid by bagging a back-to-back titles at the 2017 EPICENTER and TI7, as well as second place in DreamLeague Season 8. Miracle and Team Liquid finished fourth at TI8 and improved further to earn second place at TI9.
The Nigma Galaxy roster currently consists of Pakistani carry Syed “SumaiL” Hassan, Bulgarian offlaner Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, Lebanon support Maroun “GH” Merhej, German support Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi, and their new head coach, Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza.
It is unknown which player will take the place of Miracle, as Nigma Galaxy have not yet revealed if they will acquire a temporary substitute or sign a player for a longer stint. However, some observers are suggesting the team could take on the former OG offlaner Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf, who is now in search of a new Dota team.

Team Liquid woke up from their slumber on Tuesday when they defeated Entity (2-1) and secured their second victory of the Dota Pro Circuit Spring Tour. With that win, they should be safe from relegation, and if Liquid pull off a perfect 3-0 run, they might even find themselves in a race for a top-two finish.
Tundra Esports started the tour with a streak of three wins against Entity (2-1), Team Secret (2-0) and Nigma Galaxy (2-0) before they suffered a devastating loss against OG who beat them 2-1 on Saturday. We can assume Tundra will defeat Brame in the final week, which would get them to four wins, but that likely won’t be enough to claim the title.
However, a win against Team Liquid would almost guarantee Tundra a top-two finish and at least 240 DPC points. There’s a lot on the line for both teams, and even though Tundra have shown much more over the last few weeks, we wouldn’t expect them to stomp Liquid. We anticipate Tundra to win, but Liquid should be good for at least one map.

Nigma Galaxy suffered their fourth defeat of the Spring Tour against Glamin Gladiators (1-2) on Sunday, bringing their record down to 0-4, which puts them in danger of getting eliminated. Nigma Galaxy still need to play against Team Liquid and Team Secret next week, so their best chance to secure at least one win will come on Saturday when Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi and his crew clash with Entity.
Entity have found themselves in a similar spot as Nigma Galaxy, having managed only one win this tour (1-3), and even that came against Brame (2-0) two weeks back. Still, Entity have shown many good qualities in their three-map series against Gladiators, Tundra, and Team Liquid, who beat them 2-1 on Tuesday in a very close series.
Entity have looked much better this tour, but we have to acknowledge that Nigma Galaxy need to win to avoid relegation, which should inspire better performance. A bet on Nigma in this spot doesn’t sound like a bad idea, but we’re getting solid odds on over 2.5 maps as a safer alternative.
