Here are our picks for DRX vs Nongshim RedForce and Gen.G vs T1, with esports odds courtesy of GG Bet.

DRX vs NONGSHIM REDFORCE LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: DRX $1.44 at GG Bet | NS $2.62 at GG Bet
When: January 17, 2024 | 17:00 KST

DRX enters the 2024 League of Legends season with four new players. That includes ADC Park “Teddy” Jin-seong and top laner Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee as two new signees, and jungler Bae “Sponge” Young-jun and mid laner Song “SeTab” Kyeong-jin, who were promoted from the DRX Challengers roster.

The new-look line-up is not good enough to compete for a strong finish in the LCK. However, DRX can be a solid mid-table team if the two academy players quickly adapt to playing at the highest level.

Nongshim RedForce has kept most of the 2023 core intact, which isn’t too shocking. Even though Red Force failed to accomplish much during the 2023 summer split, the roster was assembled from younger players who spent the last year developing. Better results will be expected in 2024, but it’s hard to feel overly optimistic about how high Nongshim RedForce can fly.

Both teams enter the 2024 season with question marks, mainly revolving around the younger players and new faces. Considering all the changes in the league’s 14th season, it’s fair to expect a more volatile game.

Gen.G were the best team in the LCK in 2023, and even with all the changes they’ve made ahead of the next season, Gen.G will likely remain one of the top contenders. However, it’s easy to see why LoL betting sites have T1 priced as favourites.

T1 won the 2023 League of Legends World Championship and hasn’t made any changes to their line-up. This doesn’t guarantee that T1 will be as dominant in the LCK 2024 spring split, but there’s no questioning their quality.

Gen.G doesn’t lack talented players, and it wouldn’t be the most shocking thing to see them overtake T1 by the end of the season. But since Gen.G signed four new players in November, we can expect an adaptation period and shakier results early on.

KT ROLSTER vs KWANGDONG FREECS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Odds: KT $1.66 at GG Bet | KDF $2.10 at GG Bet
When: February 23, 2022 at 17:00 KST
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

?KT Rolster lost to T1 (0-2) and DWG KIA (1-2) last week, but they played well across both series and took a map from DWG KIA, which is a solid outcome even though DWG haven’t looked too good of late. With those two defeats, KT Rolster are 4-6 on the season, which is good for fifth place in the standings.

Kwangdong Freecs enter this bout on a three-game winning streak, with wins against Nongshim RedForce (2-0), Hanwha Life Esports (2-0), and Fredit BRION (2-1). These results aren’t too surprising, nor do they suggest that Kwangdong Freecs anything more than a mid-table team, knowing that these are three of the bottom four teams in the league.

KT Rolster look like the most likely victors for this bout, but we wouldn’t underestimate Kwangdong Freecs either. This is a clash between two-mid table teams that look very close to evenly matched. There is no value backing either side, but we like the over 2.5 maps.

LoL Odds: T1 $1.53 at GG Bet | DWG $2.37 at GG Bet

?DWG KIA are 6-4, which might look good, but they’ve not been playing well recently. Across the last two weeks, DWG KIA have won against Kwangdong Freecs (2-0), Liiv SANDBOX (2-0), and KT Rolster (2-1), but lost against DRX (2-1), perfectly illustrating that the former world champions are one of the top-four teams, but not serious title contenders.

T1, on the other side, enter the sixth week of the season with a perfect 10-0 record and an equally as impressive 20-5 map difference. On Sunday, they lost a map against Nongshim RedForce, which might look terrible considering RedForce are 3-7. However, that was one of the few games where RedForce had their full roster available after dealing with COVID cases.

With the form T1 have been showing of late, there is no reason to believe they can lose against DWG KIA, who they already beat (2-1) at the end of January. We might even see a clean sweep, but we’re happy with the moneyline odds on T1.

?Gen.G enter the third week of LCK 2022 Spring with a perfect 4-0 record following wins against DRX (2-0), DWG KIA (2-1), Fredit BRION (2-0), and Hanwha Life Esports (2-1). And according to the top esports betting sites, they should be 5-0 after this bout.

Kwangdong Freecs have managed only one win so far, against Liiv SANDBOX (2-0), but were far less convincing against T1 (0-2), KT Rolster (0-2), and DRX (0-2). They have had some solid moments, but it’s hard to believe Kwangdong Freecs can cause an upset on Wednesday.

That’s not to say that Gen.G are perfect, but this is LCK’s superteam, and until they lose to either T1 or DWG KIA, Gen.G are the best Korean LoL esports team and a cut above Kwangdong Freecs, who might not even make the playoffs. The offered LoL betting odds look about right, and there is no value in backing the outsiders, even with a map advantage.

?The latest LoL odds show DRX as $1.83 favourites to defeat Fredit BRION, which sounds fair, but we would argue that price is still a bit too high. Admittedly, DRX have managed only one win so far, against the unconvincing Kwangdong Freecs, but they played well against Korea’s top dogs in T1 and Gen.G.

Fredit BRION hold the same 1-3 record, with a win against Hanwha Life Esports (2-1) and three losses against T1 (1-2), Gen.G (0-2), and DWG KIA (0-2). Admittedly, Fredit have been fairly competitive this season, and they have achieved more impressive results than DRX C but only on paper.

Talent-wise, DRX are a class above Fredit BRION. They won’t be competing for the LCK title anytime soon, but with the players on the team, DRX should emerge as playoff gatekeepers once they find some traction. DRX have had some tough matches so far, but there’s more to this team than their record suggests.

The LCK Spring Split grand finals were billed as a close contest, with several esports betting sites installing Gen.G as the favourites. However, T1 have a reputation for shifting into a higher gear when playoffs roll around, and that is exactly how things panned out on this occasion.

T1s entire roster put up excellent performances over the weekend. The standout, however, was jungler Moon Cuzz Woo-chan, who received the Most Valuable Player award for the LCK Spring Split finals.

Another member of T1 who deserves special praise for his contribution is head coach Kim “Kim” Jeong-soo. His draft knowledge came to the fore in the second and third games, where he was able to take advantage of Gen.Gs questionable picks. That made up for T1’s inauspicious start to the match, as they lost two ban picks for the first game as a penalty for arriving late to the LCK Arena.

What makes T1s title-winning run even more impressive is the fact they entered the 2020 season with a huge question mark above their heads after top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha, jungler Kim “Clid” Tae-min and support Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong left for FunPlus Phoenix, Gen.G and Royal Never Give Up respectively. Cuzz was one of the players who came in to fill the void, while Kim “Canna” Chang-dong and Lee “Effort” Sang-ho also achieved high marks in their first split at T1.

Cuzz and Effort made the All-LCK Second Team with 125 and 98 MVP points respectively, while was the league’s fifth-ranked top laner with 81 MVP points to his name. Park “Teddy” Jin-seong was named as the bottom laner in the All-LCK First Team, while Faker made the All-LCK Third Team in the mid lane.

By winning 2020 LCK Spring Split playoffs, T1 pocketed ?100,000,000 (~US $81,261) in tournament winnings. They would also have gained entry to the 2020 LoL Mid-Season invitational, but that event was recently cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

DAMWON GAMING vs GRIFFIN LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREVIEW

The second-to-last competitive week in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Spring Split will kick off on Wednesday with a clash between DAMWON Gaming and the reigning LCK runners-up, Griffin.

DAMWON Gaming did not make any roster changes in the off-season, which was quite unusual given that every other team in the LCK made at least one swap. Nevertheless, Heo “ShadowMaker” Su and co. have held their ground against the new-look teams and are now set to enter the playoffs for the third consecutive split.

The young squad entered the 2020 season as an enigma of sorts. On one side, their sheer talent and potential for growth made DAMWON potential LCK frontrunners, but on the other, many believed they still needed time to develop into a true Korean esports powerhouse.

The truth is that DAMWON sit somewhere in between, as they sit tied-fourth in the league standings with an 8-7 record. While they are guaranteed to finish in the top eight and avoid relegation, they are still two wins short of securing a spot in the playoffs.

With Griffin, DragonX and SANDBOX Gaming as their final three opponents of the split, it is crucial for DAMWON to win here. Failure to do so could put them in an unenviable position where they need to upset DragonX and hope Afreeca Freecs fail to secure more than two wins.

While the pressure is on, DAMWON’s morale must be higher than ever following their 2-0 triumphs over Hanwha Life, Afreeca Freecs and T1 in Week 7. That bodes well for their bout with Griffin, who sit bottom of the LCK standings with a terrible 3-12 record to their name.

The 2019 LCK Summer Split runners-up and LoL World Championship quarter-finalists began their 2020 journey with a solid top-eight finish at the KeSPA Cup, to which they added a mediocre 2-2 run through the opening two weeks of the LCK Spring Split. It all went south from there, as Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong and his crew failed to win another match up until last Sunday when they edged past APK Prince (2-1).

Sitting two wins and big a chunk of map percentage outside the top eight, Griffin need to win all of their remaining fixtures against DAMWON, Afreeca Freecs and Hanwha Life in order to avoid relegation. That will be no walk in the park, but the bottom side can give themselves a fighting chance with a win over DAMWON this Wednesday.

DAMWON GAMING vs GRIFFIN LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREDICTIONS

Emotions will be running high in this David versus Goliath fixture. While Griffin are fighting for survival, the surging DAMWON Gaming will settle for nothing less than a win as they chase a playoff berth.

DAMWON and Griffin met during Week 3 of the 2020 LCK Spring Split, where we saw the former edge out a 2-1 win. Although that result might suggest Griffin can force a three-map series this week, its hard to find a solid argument in favour of the underdogs.

The main issue is not so much the difference in individual quality between these two sides, but rather the fact that Griffin have looked progressively worse throughout the season. DAMWON, meanwhile, have improved markedly over the course of the campaign and won eight straight maps in their last four matches, which includes a 2-0 win over T1 last weekend.

An upset win is always something to consider in an online contest. However, if DAMWON enter this match with the same fire they have shown in the past two weeks, this match should end in a complete stomp.

GEN.G vs T1 LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREVIEW

Week 7 of the League of Legends Korean Champions (LCK) 2020 Spring Split will serve us with a must-see clash between two Korean LoL titans in T1 and league frontrunners Gen.G.

Gen.G enter Wednesday’s bout holding an 11-1 record that Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and co. earned with a phenomenal display of skill throughout the opening six competitive weeks. To say Gen.G look like the strongest team in Korea would be a fair statement; however, if they wish to cement themselves as the undisputed alpha dogs, they still need to triumph over a T1 side that handed the league leaders their only defeat of the split back in Week 2.

Gen.G’s dominance this split is both impressive and shocking, considering the team recently rebuilt their roster by bringing in Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee from DragonX, Kim “Clid” Tae-min from T1 and Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong from KT Rolster. With three new members in the team, there were some concerns whether the new-look Gen.G would gel together in time for the LCK season; however, newly appointed coach Kwon “Helper” Yeong-jae has lived up to his name and turned this roster into a solid unit with strong communication and impressive synergy.

Like Gen.G, T1 went through some major roster changes in the offseason. They replaced top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha and jungler Clid with Kim “Canna” Chang-dong and Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan while keeping ahold of their core trio of Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Park “Teddy” Jin-seong and Lee “Effort” Sang-ho.

Due to the departure of Clid and Khan, many saw the new-look T1 roster as a weaker version of their former selves. While there are arguments to be made that T1 are slightly weaker on paper, Faker and his crew are only one win short of reaching the summit of the LCK ladder.

T1 have lost only twice so far this split, going down to Hanwha Life Esports in Week 1 and Afreeca Freecs in Week 5. Since the season switched to an online format, T1 are on a 3-0 run with wins over APK Prince (2-0), DragonX (2-0) and Hanwha Life (2-1) in Week 6.

Last week we also got to see the debut of T1 jungler Choi “Ellim” El-lim, who took over for Cuzz against APK Prince, DragonX and the first two games against Hanwha Life. In those three games, Ellim averaged a 8.63 KDA, 80.2% KPAR and 5.28 CSPM, which are impressive numbers, yet it remains to be seen whether Kim “Kim” Jeong-soo will trust the 19-year-old jungler this Wednesday.

GEN.G vs T1 LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREDICTIONS

T1 defeated Gen.G early in the split, but esports bookmakers have the latter side as heavy favourite for this week’s bout. That is not all too shocking, seeing how Ruler and his crew are clearly on a hot streak having lost only two maps since Week 2.

Siding with Gen.G to claim a 2-0 sweep might be tempting, but it’s not wise to undervalue T1 and what they bring to the table. Faker and co. rarely suffer clean-sweep losses in best-of-three (Bo3) fixtures because they are quick to adapt their gameplan whenever they drop a map. For that reason, its hard to imagine Gen.G will manage to pocket a clean sweep, so a three-map series could be on the cards this Wednesday.

GEN.G vs GRIFFIN LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREVIEW

League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) is set to return in an online format this Wednesday as Gen.G and Griffin face off in the opening fixture in Week 6 of the 2020 Spring Split.

Gen.G enter the clash with an impressive 8-1 record that sits them at the top of the league standings, one win ahead of DragonX and T1. Although many expected great things from Gen.G this season, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and co. have made a big statement with their wins over KT Rolster, DAMWON Gaming, Hanwha Life Esports, DragonX, Afreeca Freecs, APK Prince, Griffin and SANDBOX Gaming. The only team to show Gen.G can bleed were T1 in the second week of the split.

Losing only one game and holding an impressive 17-5 map record at this level of play makes Gen.G serious contenders for international success, although it remains to be seen how the change of format will affect their performances.

All five members of Gen.G have played well this split, with four of their players putting up some of the best individual performances in the league. Support Kim “Life” Jeong-min enters Week 6 with the highest KDA (10.15) in the LCK, with his bottom lane partner Ruler close behind with 8.81 and their mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong third with 8.75.

That is not to say Gen.G’s top laner Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee and jungler Kim “Clid” Tae-min have been anything less than phenomenal, as there are only a handful of players in the league that can compare to them.

While Gen.G are thriving, Griffin are desperately seeking a way to recapture their old form. However, it seems like the Kanavi scandal has pushed a team that was once labelled the next Korean esports powerhouse to the brink of collapse.

Entering 2020 without Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon and Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, who opted to reunite with their former coach Kim “cvMax” Dae-ho at DragonX, deprived Griffin of any serious quality in the top and mid lanes. Although Griffin found replacements for the departed superstars in mid laner Son “Ucal” Woo-hyeon and top laner Choi “Sword” Sung-won, both have failed to fill the shoes of their predecessors.

Griffin head into Week 6 with a humiliating 2-7 record and a 7-16 map differential, which sits them at the bottom of the standings – a far cry from last year, when they won both the LCK Spring and LCK Summer regular seasons. The only two teams Griffin have defeated this split are APK Prince and SANDBOX, both in Week 2. Since then, Sword and co. have lost to DAMWON, Hanwha Life, T1, DragonX and most recently KT Rolster.

GEN.G vs GRIFFIN LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREDICTIONS

Betting odds suggest this bout should end in a complete stomp by Gen.G and it’s hard to find any solid reason to believe otherwise. Gen.G hold a significant advantage in all lanes but especially at the top, where Rascal will face off against Sword. The latter enters this bout with a 1.55 KDA, 7.2 CSPM and only 52% KPAR, which ranks him as one of the worst-performing players in his position.

Perhaps Griffin will see some success in the bottom lane, where Park “Viper” Do-hyeon has had a few solid showings this split, but Gen.G’s Ruler looks to be in great shape and the jungle difference will make it hard for Viper to get ahead.

Gen.G are everything Griffin wish they were: consistent, dominant and across the board a better team. Choi “Edgar” Woo-beom has assembled a juggernaut of a team and if Gen.G can continue playing at this tempo, they just might win the first LCK podium in the organisation’s history.

AFREECA FREECS VS T1 LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREVIEW

Afreeca Freecs and T1 are set to meet on the Summoner’s Rift this Friday in Week 5 of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Spring Split. The bout will mark the halfway point of the split and will also be the final match these two sides will play before the LCK goes on an indefinite hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic.

After a rough start of the season, T1 have finally found their footing and reclaimed their throne. Although a top finish by the end of the split is far from guaranteed for Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and his squad, T1 have already established themselves as the alpha dogs with their triumphs over Gen.G (2-0), DragonX (2-1) and DAMWON Gaming (2-1).

With ADC Park Teddy Jin-seong in great shape and Kim Canna Chang-dong finally settling into the team as a starter, T1 as a whole look nearly unstoppable. Now the only question is whether T1 can keep up the tempo in the domestic league and strive for glory on the international stage as well.

After their title-winning run at KeSPA Cup 2019, Afreeca Freecs entered the new LCK season with high expectations on their shoulder. Although it would be fair to assume Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon and co. will make it to the playoffs, they have started falling behind the rest of the top teams.

Afreeca Freecs enter their ninth fixture of the LCK Spring Split with a 5-3 record, which sits them at fourth in the league standings. They defeated Griffin, Hanwha Life, APK Prince, SANDBOX GAMING and DAMWON Gaming, but they failed to see the same success against the likes of Gen.G, DragonX and KT Rolster.

Not everything is lost for Afreeca Freecs, however, as a win against T1 this Friday would help re-establish them as one of the top teams in the LCK. T1 head into this bout priced as heavy favourites by esports bookmakers. The question here is not so much whether T1 will win, but rather if they will manage a clean sweep.

The problem with Afreeca Freecs is simply a lack of form, which was on full display in their humiliating defeat against KT Rolster in Week 3. Although they managed to bounce back with a win against DAMWON in Week 4, Afreeca Freecs have left a lot to be desired.

On a more positive note, Afreeca Freecs have yet to suffer a clean sweep this season. What exactly is keeping this team from switching into a higher gear is anyone’s guess, but they are not as bad as some pundits would have us believe.

T1 should claim the spoils here, but we like the generous $2.12 odds on the contest to go over 2.5 maps. While Afreeca Freecs have had an up and down season to date, they should keep T1 on their toes and win a map. A 2-1 victory for T1 looks the most likely outcome.

HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS VS DAMWON GAMING LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREVIEW

Hanwha Life Esports and DAMWON Gaming will both be chasing their fourth win of the season when they meet on the Summoner’s Rift this Thursday in Week 4 of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Spring Split.

Hanwha started the season with a shock win against T1 in the opening week, to which they added a clean sweep against SANDBOX Gaming in the second week and closed out the third week with a comfortable 2-1 win over the struggling Griffin. On the flip side, they fell short against Afreeca Freecs (1-2), DragonX (0-2) and Gen.G (0-2).

Although 3-3 record is nothing special in the grand scheme of things, it would be fair to say Hanwha have exceeded expectations considering they were regarded as one of the weakest teams heading into the 2020 LCK season.

Son “Kezman” Dae-young’s squad have shown strong synergy and seem to be well coached, which should surprise nobody given who they have at the helm. The 36-year-old LoL veteran has over eight years of coaching experience under his belt and has previously coached some of the strongest Asian teams such as CJ Entus, I May, Royal Never Give Up and Rogue Warriors.

Hanwha do not have any superstars on their roster, but that is not to say they cannot compete with the best. All five members are putting up decent numbers, which suggests Hanwha will push for a spot in the LCK Spring playoffs.

DAMWON Gaming will enter this bout with the same 3-3 record, which is slightly underwhelming given they started the season as the next big thing in the Korean LoL scene. Unlike most other LCK teams, DAMWON did not make any roster changes ahead of the 2020 season and instead decided to continue working on their young core of players.

Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon and company lost to T1 (1-2), Gen.G (0-2) and SANDBOX (0-2), while they managed to defeat APK Prince (2-0), KT Rolster (2-0) and Griffin (2-1). Despite their 50% win rate, those results fail to inspire much optimism.

DAMWON were thrashed by SANDBOX, one of the weakest teams in the league. Furthermore, the three wins came against the bottom three teams in the league.

As a team, DAMWON are improving, but it seems like that process is very slow. That is a big concern when talking about their chances of clinching a playoff spot by the end of the split.

HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS VS DAMWON GAMING LCK SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREDICTIONS

Neither side have impressed so far this season, which makes this match difficult to predict. This bout could go either way, which makes us believe esports bookmakers are underestimating Hanwha Life Esports’ chances of winning.

The $2.19 about Hanwha suggests they are heavy underdogs, but we think otherwise. Although their win against T1 was a fluke and we can’t praise Kezman’s squad too much for their losses against Gen.G and DragonX, they have still shown more than their upcoming opponents.

DAMWON might wake up from their slumber and put up a dominant performance here, but after their iffy display over the weekend, we would not count on it.

We see this match as an excellent opportunity for Hanwha to upset the favourites and claim the spoils. A bet on over 2.5 maps also looks very appealing, as it’s hard to see either side dominating this contest.
