Fortnite: Battle Royale is the most popular online game. Celebrities, streamers and casual players fill the servers every day.
Despite Fortnite’s popularity, Epic Games has failed to create a competitive league for its golden child. That lack of official events has left the door open for players and fans to organize their own competitions.
Set to launch in May, Friday Fortnite will be the first celebrity tournament hosted on Youtube and Twitch. Players will enter the competition in duos for a total of 32 teams and 64 players. Every week, the teams will fight on a single elimination bracket.
Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem, the event’s founder, has gathered a group of well-known celebrities to take part in Friday Fortnite. Nadeshot, owner of 100 Thieves, and Myth, captain of the Team SoloMid Fortnite team, are one of the confirmed duos. KSI, Dwarf Mamba, FaZe Banks, CouRage, Scump and JahovaHd are some of the competitors. More players and duos are yet to be announced.
Friday Fortnite is one of the most anticipated events in the gaming community. Seeing the impact celebrities have already made while playing Battle Royale, the tournament can be expected to break multiple records for viewership and social media reach.
Fans can of the game can enjoy Friday Fortnite for free on Twitch and Youtube. More information about brackets and players can be found on the UMG website.
