FaZe Clan have secured a playoff spot at ESL Pro League Season 20, avenging their opening loss to Sangal with a 2-0 victory, winning on Anubis (13-11) and Dust2 (13-5).

After a shaky performance earlier in the Counter-Strike 2 tournament, FaZe’s recovery was driven by strong performances from H?vard “?rain?” Nygaard, David “?frozen?” ?eransky, and Robin “?ropz?” Kool.

Their counter-terrorist side on Anubis laid the foundation for rain to shine in the offensive half, while Dust2 saw a dominant FaZe performance, with Finn “?karrigan?” Andersen rallying his team loudly throughout.

Sangal, after defeating FaZe in their opening matchup, couldn’t build on that momentum.

They suffered defeats to Eternal Fire and FaZe, falling to the Last Chance Stage, where they will face FlyQuest.

FaZes recent form marks a shift after early exits from BLAST Premier Fall Groups and IEM Cologne.

Now, with an impressive run at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown and solid improvements at ESL Pro League, they are back in playoff contention.

Meanwhile, Team Spirit also earned a playoff berth after reverse-sweeping 3DMAX.

Despite losing the first map on Anubis (6-13), Spirit bounced back with dominant wins on Ancient (13-6) and Nuke (13-2), powered by standout performances from Danil “?donk?” Kryshkovets and Myroslav “?zont1x?” Plakhotia.

In the Last Chance Stage, KOI and Lynn Vision were eliminated after losses to Wildcard and FlyQuest, respectively.

FlyQuest managed to stave off elimination in a hard-fought series against Lynn Vision, while Wildcard continues their tournament run after defeating KOI.

The MongolZ and 9z have also dropped into the Last Chance Stage following losses to Spirit and 3DMAX.

The MongolZ took Spirit to the brink but couldn’t close the series, while 9z’s defeat leaves them struggling to regain their early-season form after setbacks at IEM Cologne and BetBoom Dacha.

Spirit’s playoff berth was hard-fought, having earlier survived a scare from Wildcard and losing to MIBR.

Their recovery, alongside FaZe’s resurgence, adds intrigue as the tournament heads into the final stages.

Saturday’s ESL Pro League fixtures

Natus Vincere and Eternal Fire have secured spots in the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 20 after winning their upper bracket semi-finals 2-0 in Group A against Ninjas in Pyjamas and Sangal Esports, respectively.

Both teams, sitting at No. 1 and No. 11 in the global Counter-Strike 2 rankings, had dominant starts, defeating Lynn Vision and FlyQuest in their opening matches.

Their victories in the semi-finals ensure a place in the playoffs, where they will now face each other in a seeding match.

The winner will advance directly to the quarter-finals of the 16-team playoff bracket, while the loser will begin their playoff journey in the second round.

Sangal, led by former Eternal Fire and academy players Yasin “xfl0ud” Ko? and Samet “jottAAA” K?kl, had an impressive run leading up to the Pro League, including a surprise victory over FaZe Clan in their opening match.

However, they were outmatched by Eternal Fire, especially on Dust2.

Sangal started strong with a 7-5 lead but struggled to maintain their momentum, winning only two more rounds across the series.

Eternal Fires ?zgr “woxic” Eker, Ismailcan “XANTARES” D?rtkarde?, and Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yal??n dominated the defence, securing a playoff spot with a decisive 13-1 win on Nuke.

Natus Vincere faced Ninjas in Pyjamas in their advancement match, with some pre-game tension stirred by Justinas “jL” Lekavicius quoting an interview from Artem “r1nkle” Moroz, where the Ukrainian sniper compared himself to NaVis Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov.

However, r1nkle was outclassed by w0nderful during the series, ending with a 0.79 rating compared to w0nderful’s 1.39.

Mihai “iM” Ivan led NaVi to victory with a 1.69 rating across Ancient and Dust2.

Meanwhile, FaZe avoided elimination by defeating FlyQuest 2-0 (13-9, 13-11) in the lower bracket and will next face Ninjas in Pyjamas as they attempt to recover from a poor start in Malta.

Heroic also narrowly avoided an upset against Lynn Vision, eventually securing their place in the lower bracket with a 2-1 (13-10, 6-13, 13-7) win, where they will face Sangal in their next match.

Earlier in the day, Team Spirit took care of business in their opening round clash against Wildcard, thanks to a Danil “?donk?” Kryshkovets masterclass, where the Russian rifler broke the Counter-Strike 2 kill record.

Donk racked up a massive 38 kills on Ancient before recording another 37 on Nuke to power Spirit to a 2-0 (13-11, 16-13) victory over their North American opponents.

Thursday’s ESL Pro League fixtures

  • KOI ($3.75) vs The MongolZ ($1.25) @ 1:30pm CEST
  • Team Spirit ($1.07) vs MIBR ($7.50) @ 1:30pm CEST

FLYQUEST vs 100 THIEVES LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

Best Odds: FLY $1.36 at GG Bet | 100T $3.05 at GG Bet When: September 6, 2024 | 13:00 PDT Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

The lower-bracket final of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Championship pits FlyQuest against the surging 100 Thieves for a spot in the grand finals. The two squads met just once during the LCS 2024 Summer regular season, when FlyQuest eked out a 2-1 victory.

The top LoL betting sites have FlyQuest priced as favourites to defeat 100 Thieves for the second time. That is unsurprising, despite 100T’s shock victory against Cloud9 in the previous round.

100 Thieves have already exceeded expectations in the LCS 2024 Championship by placing top three and securing a spot at the 2024 LoL World Championship. However, they’ve had a fairly easy road, with two victories against Dignitas and one against Cloud9.

Beating Cloud9 is no small feat, but considering how C9 have performed this split — particularly in that series — it is hard to praise 100 Thieves too much. On the other side, Rayan “Sniper” Shoura and co. deserve some recognition for being able to punish Cloud9’s mistakes and poor drafting.

FlyQuest enter this match off a close 2-3 loss against Team Liquid, having previously beaten Cloud9 and NRG without any issues. Liquid have been the only serious threat to FlyQuest for the LCS title, and even they barely made it past Gabri?l “Bwipo” Rau’s crew, who have made a strong case for themselves as North America’s No.2 team.

Picking a winner comes down to how much weight we can put on 100 Thieves’ run to this stage. While they beat Cloud9, they did not have to deal with strong resistance on the day, so it is fair to assume they will not have it as easy on Friday.

FlyQuest are still fairly vulnerable, especially in the early game. However, they will rarely go hard out of the gate, which should prevent 100 Thieves from getting too much traction early in the series.

FlyQuest to win with at least two maps to spare is a solid option at $1.79 with top League of Legends bookies.

After a month’s break from European competitions, FlyQuest will take another go at leaving their mark at ESL Pro League Season 20. However, they are not expected to do well, and esports betting sites have them priced at $4.24 for Tuesday’s clash.

Eternal Fire are far from one of the leading candidates to hoist the trophy in Malta, but they have done well in their most recent outings, with comfortable victories against B8, Cloud9, 9Pandas, and Team Falcons. Before that, the Turkish squad produced a few less convincing displays against weaker squads, so consistency is still missing.

FlyQuest are in good form, and while all of their recent victories came against lesser regional opponents, they posted good results against higher-rated opposition before the summer break and even at the start of August. As such, it is fair to expect the Australian squad can do some damage.

FaZe Clan should be in for a field day when they face off against Sangal Esports for the first time. But while Sangal are a much lower-rated team on the global Counter-Strike standings, they have found some serious momentum lately.

They won CCT Season 2 European Series #6 and Series #7 and, just over a week ago, placed second at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: European Qualifier A. With an incredible 18-3 record since the start of July, Sangal Esports seem to be set to make a splash in Malta.

FaZe Clan are serious title contenders; however, they have produced some unconvincing performances over the last few weeks against Rare Atom, paiN Gaming, and OG, so it is not entirely unlikely that Sangal Esports take a map off them.

Best Odds: Heroic $1.42 at GG Bet | NiP $2.83 at GG Bet

HEROIC have not come close to winning a tournament since placing top four at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #1. However, Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski and co. have recently found some traction with four wins over their last six series.

Ninjas in Pyjamas are 3-7 from their last 10 and on a four-game losing streak. They did well to upset Cloud9 and FaZe Clan at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 earlier this month, but that means very little after their most recent outings.

HEROIC are not in the best shape, and they lost their last meeting with Ninjas in Pyjamas in June. However, unlike Ninjas in Pyjamas, HEROIC have shown some improvement and should not struggle to come away with a comfortable victory.

MiBR and 9z Team last clashed in the second round of Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024, when 9z won in two maps. They needed overtime on Ancient but crushed the Brazillians on Nuke with 13-2, so the game was not particularly close.

Since then, 9z Team have won just one of five games played, including losses to Astralis, Team Falcons, and paiN Gaming (twice). MiBR, on the other side, have won three games over the same stretch, albeit against BESTIA and two against Hype Esports.

MiBR seem to be in better form, but Maximiliano “max” Gonzalez and his crew have a better map pool, stronger results against more formidable opponents, and are up in the head-to-head stakes. Barring any surprises, 9z Team should come out ahead.

TEAM LIQUID vs FLYQUEST LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

Best Odds: TL $1.24 at GG Bet | FLY $3.92 at GG Bet When: August 31, 2024 | 13:00 PDT Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Team Liquid and FlyQuest will clash on Saturday, August 31, in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Championship upper bracket final. The two North American sides last met on the opening day of the LCS 2024 Summer regular season, when Team Liquid won, and according to LoL betting odds, the rematch should not end much differently.

FlyQuest enter the LCS 2024 Championship upper bracket finals off a surprise 3-1 victory against Cloud9. The underdogs managed to produce a decisive victory, and while some of their success was due to Cloud9 choking very advantageous positions, it is hard to criticise FlyQuest for what they showed on the day.

Team Liquid had no issues crushing 100 Thieves in the second round, which hardly comes as a shock. There is nothing of note to take from that series; Team Liquid performed significantly better, albeit against a weaker opponent.

Now priced at $1.24, Team Liquid are expected to have an easy time beating FlyQuest, which is not too surprising, as FlyQuest looked like the most vulnerable of the top-three teams during the regular season. But they managed to keep their head in the game against Cloud9, showing a more methodical approach with few slip-ups.

This does not change the fact that Team Liquid have been more efficient throughout the split, yet the gap between the two LCS juggernauts is not nearly as large as the top LoL betting sites suggest with their offer.

FlyQuest taking two maps on Saturday isnt too far-fetched, so at $2.33, theyre a solid pick on the map handicap market.

FlyQuest pulled off a stunning victory against Cloud9 in round two of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Summer Playoffs, securing their place at the 2024 LoL World Championship alongside Team Liquid.

This marks FlyQuest’s first World Championship appearance in four years, and they did it in style, taking down one of the LCSs most storied teams.

FlyQuests journey to this victory wasnt straightforward.

After finishing third in the LCS Summer regular season with a 5-2 record, FlyQuest fell to Cloud9 0-2 on the final day.

However, their thirst for revenge was evident in the playoffs.

Despite losing the first game of the series, FlyQuest looked dominant throughout, nearly clinching the win in map one before Cloud9 managed a narrow comeback.

From that point on, it was all FlyQuest.

In the following maps, FlyQuest took control, winning maps two and three in long but convincing fashion.

The final map, however, was a masterclass in dominance.

FlyQuest dismantled Cloud9 in just 26 minutes with a perfect 14-0 kill score, leaving Cloud9 without a single kill.

A significant contributor to FlyQuests victory was mid laner Song “Quad” Su-hyeong, who celebrated his 22nd birthday by putting on an exceptional performance.

Quad achieved a 25-5 kill/death score over the series, with a standout nine-kill performance in Game 2 on Smolder.

His 81% kill participation underscored his critical role in FlyQuest’s success.

But it wasnt just Quad who shone.

Top laner Gabri?l “Bwipo” Rau rebounded from a difficult start to hold his own in a Renekton vs. KSante battle against C9s Park “Thanatos” Seung-gyu.

Meanwhile, jungler Kacper “Inspired” S?oma secured a crucial baron steal on map three, shifting the momentum decisively in FlyQuests favour.

After the match, Inspired highlighted the teams growth in coordination, stating, The team is finally doing only coordinated plays; in this game and the whole series, we never took a fight when we didnt need to.

This win sends FlyQuest to the upper bracket final against Team Liquid on Saturday, August 31.

Although their primary goal of reaching LoL Worlds is secured, FlyQuest is far from complacent.

Inspired acknowledged the challenge ahead, noting that Team Liquid is equally adept at controlled gameplay, making their upcoming match anything but easy.

Cloud9, on the other hand, now faces a critical test.

After falling to FlyQuest, theyll await the winner of Dignitas vs. 100 Thieves for a do-or-die match on Sunday, September 1, to claim the final LCS spot at Worlds.

Despite their recent struggles, Cloud9 remains a formidable opponent, having attended ten of the past eleven World Championships.

However, theyll need to regroup quickly and address the mistakes that plagued them in this series to keep their streak alive.

FlyQuest’s victory not only avenges their regular season loss to Cloud9 but also cements their resurgence in the LCS.

As they prepare to face Team Liquid, fans can expect a thrilling encounter between two of the top teams in North America.

The IEM Cologne play-in stage has been full of intense matchups, with Team Liquid, Complexity, and SAW securing their spots in the group stage after thrilling victories.

Liquid demonstrated their resilience and depth by overcoming FURIA 2-1 in a dramatic reverse-sweep, where the new and improved Counter-Strike 2 roster continued their upward spiral.

After dropping their Anubis pick, Liquid found themselves in trouble but bounced back on Nuke.

Key performances from Russel “?Twistzz?” Van Dulken and Roland “?ultimate?” Tomkowiak helped Liquid turn the tide.

The decider on Mirage saw Liquid dominate, with Justin “?jks?” Savage and Keith “?NAF?” Markovic anchoring both ends of the map, allowing Mareks “YEKINDAR” Ga?inskis and ultimate to roam freely.

Liquid’s strong map pool and adaptability carried them to victory, with a final win securing their spot in the top-16.

Complexity also punched their ticket to the group stage with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Eternal Fire.

After a rough start on Vertigo, Complexity managed a comeback, fueled by a 1vs3 pistol clutch and stellar terrorist-side play from Jonathan “?EliGE?” Jablonowski.

The battle on Dust2 was even more intense, with Complexity and Eternal Fire trading rounds in a messy but entertaining match.

Michael “?Grim?” Wince’s 1vs2 ace clutch was pivotal, and despite some shaky moments, Johnny “?JT?” Theodosiou’s clutch in double overtime secured the win.

SAW became the first team to advance to the group stage from the play-in.

The Portuguese squad triumphed over BIG in a three-map series that culminated in a nail-biting Inferno decider.

After trading each other’s map picks, SAW came back from a deficit on Inferno, with Jo?o “?story?” Vieira’s 1vs2 clutch in the final round sealing the victory.

The win was a significant milestone for veterans Ricardo “?roman?” Oliveira and Christopher “?MUTiRiS?” Fernandes, who credited their younger teammates for the success.

While those three teams have qualified for the main event at IEM Cologne, FlyQuest, 3DMAX and ALTERNATE aTTaX were eliminated from the play-in stage on Thursday after suffering their second loss.

Friday will be the final day of the play-in stage, and the remaining 10 squads will battle it out for the last five places in the main event.

Intel Extreme Masters Cologne is one of the most presitigious Counter-Strike events on the calendar, and the tournament kicked off with the opening day of the play-in stage on Wednesday.

The first day produced some upset results, with The Mongolz and Heroic going down as the esports betting sites’ favourite in their opening best-of-three series.

The Mongolz are on the brink of elimination at IEM Cologne after a 1-2 loss to SAW, faltering on defence.

BIG, on the other hand, managed a comeback victory over FlyQuest after initially blowing a 9-3 lead.

These two winners will face off for a spot in the main event of the tournament.

SAW, energised and well-prepared under new head coach Danny “?BERRY?” Krger, overcame a slow start on Anubis.

They trailed 4-8 on the counter-terrorist side but rallied in the second half, exploiting The MongolZ’s weak B bomb site.

Despite a comeback from The Mongolz forcing overtime, SAW secured a 16-13 win.

After The Mongolz won on Ancient, SAW dominated Dust2, with key contributions from Jo?o ‘story’ Vieira, Michel ‘ewjerkz’ Pinto, and Rafael ‘arrozdoce’ Wing, to win 13-5.

BIG’s match against FlyQuest was similarly dramatic.

After trading 9-3 terrorist halves and forcing overtime, FlyQuest took the lead.

BIG responded by winning on Inferno and dominating Vertigo with a 10-0 start.

FlyQuest attempted a comeback, but BIG held on for a 13-11 victory.

MIBR, under new in-game leader Andr “?drop?” Abreu, defeated Heroic 2-1.

Heroic struggled on the defensive side, losing 7-13 on Mirage and Anubis after a strong start on Ancient.

MIBR’s Felipe “?insani?” Yuji and AWPer Rafael “?saffee?” Costa were standout performers.

The next phase will see 3DMAX face Heroic in an elimination match, and 9z Team take on MIBR for a group stage spot.

9z easily defeated 3DMAX 13-3 and 13-4, showcasing star player Franco “?dgt?” Garcia and captain Maximiliano “?max?” Gonzalez.

Eternal Fire is close to securing a spot in the main event after a 2-1 win over Falcons.

The match saw standout performances from Ismailcan “?XANTARES?” D?rtkarde? on Vertigo and ?zgr “?woxic?” Eker on Dust2, despite some sloppy play from both teams.

Team Liquid and FURIA won their opening matches, defeating paiN Gaming and Imperial, respectively.

Liquid, coming off strong performances at BLAST Premier Fall Groups, overcame paiN with solid terrorist-side efforts on Anubis and Inferno.

FURIA’s Brazilian derby against Imperial saw them recover from a disastrous start on Dust2 to win the series 2-1, highlighted by a 13-0 thrashing on Inferno.

IEM Cologne 2024 kicks off on Wednesday, August 7, with eight matches in the opening round of the play-in stage. See ESB’s free Counter-Strike 2 betting picks for each fixture, with odds from the top esports bookmakers in Seychelles.

Time Team 1 (Odds) Team 2 (Odds) Total Maps (O/U 2.5)
10:30am CEST FlyQuest ($2.10) BIG ($1.66) Over $1.83 | Under $1.83

FlyQuest and BIG have enough talent on their rosters to qualify for the IEM Cologne 2024 main event. However, it is tough to pick a winner between these two, and betting on the total maps market looks to be the safest play.

Time Team 1 (Odds) Team 2 (Odds) Total Maps (O/U 2.5)
10:30am CEST The Mongolz ($1.36) SAW ($3.00) Over $2.00 | Under $1.72

The Mongolz broke into the top 10 on the ESL world rankings for the first time, but they have since dropped to 11th. The Mongolian squad is ranked 18 spots higher than SAW and shouldn’t have much trouble beating the Portuguese roster.

Time Team 1 (Odds) Team 2 (Odds) Total Maps (O/U 2.5)
1:30pm CEST Heroic ($1.36) MIBR ($3.00) Over $2.00 | Under $1.72

Heroic will have to play at IEM Cologne with Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletnjuk as a stand-in, which should make this clash against MIBR closer than first expected. Neither team enters this event in great form, so taking the underdog at the match line is the play.

1:30pm CEST 3DMAX ($2.00) 9z Team ($1.80) Over $1.88 | Under $1.91

9z Team surprised everyone when they finished in third-fourth place at IEM Dallas 2024, where they defeated the likes of Liquid, Vitality and MOUZ. 3DMAX have had little time to prepare for their IEM Cologne campaign after being added as a replacement for BetBoom Team on Monday. At $1.80 with top esports bookmakers, 9z represent great value.

4:30pm CEST Complexity ($1.06) ALTERNATE aTTaX ($8.00) Over $3.25 | Under $1.33

These teams are separated by 84 spots in the ESL world rankings, so it is no surprise that Complexity are $1.06 favourites. There is no value in head-to-head or match-line betting with esports betting sites, so the round-line market is the value option.

Time Team 1 (Odds) Team 2 (Odds) Total Maps (O/U 2.5)
4:30pm CEST Eternal Fire ($1.53) Falcons ($2.37) Over $1.83 | Under $1.83

Falcons have yet to win an S-Tier tournament since their inception into Counter-Strike; however, recent results suggest they are improving steadily. Eternal Fire enter this series as favourites, but given the improvement of this Falcons squad, the underdogs can spring a surprise.

Time Team 1 (Odds) Team 2 (Odds) Total Maps (O/U 2.5)
7:30pm CEST FURIA ($1.57) Imperial ($2.25) Over $1.83 | Under $1.83

FURIA are heavy favourites to beat Imperial, as they are 16 spots higher in the ESL world rankings. Following a strong performance at the Esports World Cup, it is hard to bet against this new and improved FURIA outfit.

7:30pm CEST paiN Gaming ($2.10) Team Liquid ($1.57) Over $1.83 | Under $1.83

Team Liquid have looked better under the leadership of Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, defeating Natus Vincere twice en route to qualifying for the BLAST Premier Fall Final. PaiN Gaming have been competing against South American teams in qualifiers and A-Tier events, so it is hard to see them beating Liquid in this series.

FURIA has finished the second day of the Esports World Cup Counter-Strike 2 event undefeated after beating FlyQuest, Sashi and The Mongolz in the last chance stage to book their spot in the playoffs.

Following a disappointing performance on the opening day against Natus Vincere, where they were convincingly beaten 2-0 by the reigning Counter-Strike 2 Major champions, the all-Brazilian roster rattled off three straight wins to advance.

FURIA’s first series was an international battle between Brazil and Australia, as the world number 18 took on the all-Aussie squad of FlyQuest.

After a back-and-forth first half that ended 7-5 in favour of the Brazilians, FURIA won six straight rounds in the second half to claim a 13-5 victory on Nuke.

The second series of the day should have been much easier for FURIA, as they clashed with Sashi, who is 14 places lower than them on the world rankings; however, the Danish squad pushed them all the way to overtime.

Both teams traded 8-4 halves on Nuke before going to overtime, where FURIA claimed seven of the 10 rounds to take a gritty 19-15 victory and advance to the grand final against The Mongolz.

Their opponent had a much easier run to the final, recording dominant wins over MIBR (13-2) and M80 (13-8) in their first two matches of the bracket.

For the third straight series, FURIA played on Nuke and they started hot against the Mongolian roster, claiming an 8-4 halftime lead.

The two teams traded rounds in the second half, which allowed FURIA to wrap up the match in the 22nd round and record a 13-9 win.

With the win, FURIA booked their spot in the playoffs, setting up a clash with MOUZ in the quarter-finals.

To conclude the second day of the Esports World Cup CS2 event, G2 Esports and Team Spirit kicked off the playoff stage, with the world’s top-ranked team taking on the new lineup of G2.

Although Spirit entered the series as heavy favourites, it would be the underdogs who would take the first map with a 13-8 scoreline on Mirage.

Spirit had to respond on their map pick, Nuke, and even though they were pushed to extra rounds, the world number one claimed a 16-14 win to send the series to a third map.

However, much like the first map, G2 sprinted out to an early lead on Ancient with a 9-3 halftime lead before quickly converting it into a 13-5 win.

With this result, the favourites with most esports betting sites to lift the Esports World Cup trophy are now eliminated.

G2 will face the winner of the Team Vitality vs Virtus.pro quarter-final in the semi-final on Saturday.
