The announcement was made in a blog post on the company’s website and confirmed that the shutdown would be effective on May 1, 2023. The 90-day window starting today is being given to players to wrap up their in-game activities before the mobile version of Apex Legends is officially terminated.
“We have made the painful decision to sunset Apex Legends Mobile. This decision does not come with ease. Factors beyond our control have prevented us from maintaining the high-quality experience and content that our players deserve,” Respawn said.
“As a result, the game will sunset on May 1, 2023 at 4pm PDT after which it will no longer be playable. Our gratitude to our players and teams for joining us on Apex Legends Mobile, even if for a short while, is unending. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
In the blog post, Respawn explained the reasons behind the decision to shut down the mobile version of Apex Legends. The company stated that it strives to provide players with consistently outstanding games and that, unfortunately, the content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile had fallen short of the bar for quality, quantity, and cadence. Respawn further explained that, after months of working with its development partner, it was a mutual decision to sunset the mobile game.
“At Respawn, we aim to provide players with games that are consistently outstanding. Following a strong start, the content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile has begun to fall short of that bar for quality, quantity, and cadence,” Respawn said.
“It is for this reason, after months of working with our development partner, that we have made the mutual decision to sunset our mobile game. Although disappointing, we are proud of the game we launched, are grateful for the support of the Apex Legends community, and are confident that this is the right decision for players.”
Apex Legends Mobile made its debut on May 17, 2022, featuring unique content such as the Legends Rhapsody and Fade, alongside classic maps and weapons from the original Apex Legends game. Despite the disheartening news, Respawn expressed its appreciation for the support of the Apex Legends community and stressed that the shutdown was in the best interest of players.
The shutdown of Apex Legends Mobile has been met with disappointment and frustration by many players, who have invested time and money into the mobile version of the game. However, Respawn has emphasized its love for the Apex universe and its players and has expressed its hope that the shutdown will not deter players from exploring the Apex Legends universe further.
“Our love for the Apex universe and our players remains unchanged,” the statement read.
“We look forward to exploring this universe, its characters, and its stories along with you. In the meantime, we appreciate your continued support and patience as we navigate these next steps.”
According to Respawn, no reimbursements will be offered for any transactions made using real money within Apex Mobile, in accordance with the EA User Agreement. To clarify any questions or concerns players may have regarding the shutdown, the company has also published a FAQ in its blog post.
]]>Respawn Entertainment, the game’s developer, has managed to keep fans’ anticipation concerning the new season high by maintaining a high-quality level of storytelling on the game’s mobile platform.
On October 11, the game developer shared a tweet on their official Twitter account revealing the Apex Legends Mobile: Champions’ launch trailer. The trailer goes deeper into Fade’s story and shows where the mobile-first legend was approached by a large ship with a gladiator-like arena. The trailer also introduces some new characters to Apex Mobile, like Ash.
The legend is one of the most popular from the original PC and console version of Apex Legends. The mobile roster will likely feature Ash and a new POI in King’s Canyon. The POI is presumably part of the takeover of the new town.
Champions will delve into the story behind Apex Legends a bit further than most and show how Ash will merge with the mobile game’s meta. At the moment, it is yet to be known if the legend will have any alterations to her kit.
Besides Ash, the trailer of Apex Legends Mobile Season 3 revealed a mysterious new character who, from the look of things, has some unspecified history with Fade.
The trailer depicted the new character as the manager/overseer of the Apex Games and the host of a gladiator-like event. The competition will feature Legends fighting against each other with their fists in what looks like a new town takeover from the known Kings Canyon.
Respawn’s official announcement tweet was captioned “Enter the ring.” This could mean the new season would have a POI akin to Pathfinder’s Olympus Fight Night from Apex Legend’s console and PC version. From the looks of things, aspects of Fight Night will be altered for the mobile game and, as a result, give Apex fans a whole new experience.
Respawn and EA received mostly positive feedback when Apex Legends Mobile was first launched. Fans were most of all taken by Legends like Fade, who were introduced to them with the launch.
The legend is yet to be released on Apex Legends’ original PC and console version. However, with the positive reactions from fans, Fade may find himself in the game’s original version soon.
With the new season a few days away, Respawn will most likely send out more information concerning further details about Champions, like battle pass content and shop rotations. The game developer may also inform fans if Ash, who was featured in the trailer, would have new ability perks.
Season 15 of Apex Legend on PC and console is also schedule to be released, and according to leaked, unconfirmed reports, it will feature a new map on Boreas, Seer’s home planet. The new season will also likely have a new legend and is rumored to be released on Tuesday, November 1, after the Fight or Fright event comes to an end.

The update adds the Climatizer town takeover to World’s Edge, a popular POI among Apex’s PC and platform gamers. The Climatizer will cycle during matches, covering areas of the map in snow. Cold Snap also adds a limited time mode and combat pass. The new Shotguns and Snipers modes are part of Armed and Dangerous. Shotguns and snipers can be used at close or broad range. The game’s battle pass features iced gun skins, weapon charms, and more. The Battle Pass Premium grants 3 legend skins, emotes, 2 weapon skins, 800 Syndicate Gold and banners. Battle Pass Premium Plus adds 80% more battle pass gain, a restricted avatar frame, and a 500,000 BP encounter, or 10 battle pass levels.
