The post Two LCS teams expected to leave Americas LoL scene appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>This information, first shared by esports journalist Travis Gafford, has surprised many, particularly with NRGs unexpected exit.
I've heard from multiple individuals close to the teams that NRG and Immortals will not be competing in the LCS in 2025https://t.co/bNVn8UZAAW pic.twitter.com/rD1dau8tcC
— Travis Gafford (@TravisGafford) September 10, 2024
Immortals departure comes as little surprise due to their underwhelming performance since rejoining the LCS in 2019.
However, NRGs exit has left the community stunned, especially considering the organisation acquired Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) and its LCS slot in 2023.
In a short span, NRG built a championship-winning roster, had a solid run at the 2023 World Championship, and now appears to be walking away from League of Legends esports.
Fans expressed frustration, with some accusing NRG of buying the team only to let it operate on autopilot before bailing.
This report also lists six teams expected to participate in the new League of Legends Americas competition: Cloud9, Dignitas, Shopify Rebellion, FlyQuest, and 2024 World Championship representatives Team Liquid and 100 Thieves.
While these teams are expected to make the transition, there are still uncertainties, particularly regarding 100 Thieves, which is rumoured to be considering restructuring or even selling its league spot.
The restructuring of the LCS comes as Riot Games plans to merge North Americas LCS with Latin America’s LLA and Brazils CBLOL into a unified two-conference region by 2025.
While teams like Cloud9, FlyQuest, Liquid, and Shopify Rebellion have reportedly embraced the changes, nothing is set in stone until Riot formally announces the final list of participants.

]]>The post FlyQuest vs 100 Thieves betting tips – LCS 2024 Summer Playoffs appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The lower-bracket final of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Championship pits FlyQuest against the surging 100 Thieves for a spot in the grand finals. The two squads met just once during the LCS 2024 Summer regular season, when FlyQuest eked out a 2-1 victory.
The top LoL betting sites have FlyQuest priced as favourites to defeat 100 Thieves for the second time. That is unsurprising, despite 100T’s shock victory against Cloud9 in the previous round.
100 Thieves have already exceeded expectations in the LCS 2024 Championship by placing top three and securing a spot at the 2024 LoL World Championship. However, they’ve had a fairly easy road, with two victories against Dignitas and one against Cloud9.
Beating Cloud9 is no small feat, but considering how C9 have performed this split — particularly in that series — it is hard to praise 100 Thieves too much. On the other side, Rayan “Sniper” Shoura and co. deserve some recognition for being able to punish Cloud9’s mistakes and poor drafting.
FlyQuest enter this match off a close 2-3 loss against Team Liquid, having previously beaten Cloud9 and NRG without any issues. Liquid have been the only serious threat to FlyQuest for the LCS title, and even they barely made it past Gabri?l “Bwipo” Rau’s crew, who have made a strong case for themselves as North America’s No.2 team.
Picking a winner comes down to how much weight we can put on 100 Thieves’ run to this stage. While they beat Cloud9, they did not have to deal with strong resistance on the day, so it is fair to assume they will not have it as easy on Friday.
FlyQuest are still fairly vulnerable, especially in the early game. However, they will rarely go hard out of the gate, which should prevent 100 Thieves from getting too much traction early in the series.
FlyQuest to win with at least two maps to spare is a solid option at $1.79 with top League of Legends bookies.

]]>The post 100 Thieves defeat Cloud9 in LCS lower bracket semi-final appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Cloud9, after a tough 3-1 loss to FlyQuest, found themselves in the lower bracket, while 100 Thieves rebounded from their defeat to Team Liquid by edging out Dignitas in a closely contested series.
The match began with 100 Thieves drawing first blood, outclassing Cloud9 to take a 1-0 lead.
However, Cloud9 quickly responded to even the series at 1-1 heading into the third game.
Game 3 was a struggle for Cloud9, especially with Joseph “Jojopyun” Pyun on LeBlanc, as 100 Thieves took the lead again, going up 2-1.
In the final game, Cloud9 appeared lost, leading to a 1-3 series defeat and their elimination from the LCS Summer 2024, marking a heartbreaking miss at Worlds for the once-dominant team.
The victory for 100 Thieves secured their spot at Worlds 2024 and propelled them to the LCS Summer 2024 lower final, where they will face FlyQuest for a place in the grand final.

This win was particularly special for rookie player Rayan “Sniper” Shoura, who gave a shoutout to his brother and his family following the match.
Sniper, in his first year in the LCS, is now set to showcase his skills on the LoL Worlds stage, expressing his excitement to face T1s Choi “Zeus” Woo-je.
Cloud9s elimination is a significant upset in the LCS, especially given their consistent presence at Worlds for over a decade.
Despite a strong Summer Split, their hopes for redemption were shattered by 100 Thieves, who delivered standout performances, particularly from Lim Quid Hyeon-seung and Frank Tomo Lam.
Reflecting on the series, Quid remarked that 100 Thieves outplayed Cloud9 in terms of macro, even in their one loss.
100 Thieves journey to Worlds is a remarkable turnaround after a difficult summer split, where they suffered four consecutive losses.
Many had written them off, but after a critical win over Dignitas in the playoffs, they found their rhythm.
Support star Bill “Eyla” Nguyen credited the teams mid-season work for their resurgence, which ultimately led to their victory over Cloud9.
As 100 Thieves prepares to take on FlyQuest, Cloud9 is left to reflect on what went wrong this season.
With changes already made before summer, including the departure of Coach Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodrguez and veteran top laner Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami, its unclear what the future holds for the team as they face their second-ever miss at Worlds.
Meanwhile, 100 Thieves will aim to continue their momentum, hoping to challenge Team Liquids undefeated Summer Split in the grand final.

]]>Dota 2 will be the highlight esports title across the next two weeks, with the 13th edition of The International kicking off on September 4.
The 20th season of the Counter-Strike 2 ESL Pro League will also commence this week, with action from Group A starting on September 3.
Meanwhile, the Korean (LCK) and North American (LCS) League of Legends summer splits will conclude this weekend.
The International is the most prestigious Dota 2 event on the calendar, with 16 of the world’s best teams taking their place in the two-week event.
Although the prize pool for The International is no longer as big as the US$40 million we have seen in the past, it is expected that the 2024 edition of the tournament will boast over US$3,000,000.
Esports betting sites have marked Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit as $4.00 equal favourites to claim the title, with Team Falcons ($4.33) sitting on the second line of betting.

ESL Pro League Season 20 will run from September 3-22 in Saint Julian’s, Malta, with 32 CS2 teams participating in the US$750,000 event.
The group stage will run for the first two weeks before the playoffs begin on September 17, culminating with the best-of-five grand final on September 22.
GG Bet has Team Vitality marked as the $4.00 favourite to take home the ESL Pro League title, but they are closely followed by Natus Vincere ($4.33) and Team Spirit ($4.50).

The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) will conclude this week, with the lower bracket final between FlyQuest and 100 Thieves set to be played on Friday, September 6.
The winner of the lower final will clash with Team Liquid in the grand final on the following day, with the winner taking home the LCS Summer 2024 title.

Hanwha Life Esports and T1 will clash in the lower bracket final on Saturday, September 7, with the winner earning the right to face the league-leading Gen.G in the grand final.
Gen.G has only lost four maps throughout the LCK Summer split, and they are considered by many as the overwhelming favourites to take out their fifth consecutive LCK title.

]]>The post Team Liquid vs FlyQuest betting picks – LCS 2024 Summer Playoffs appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Team Liquid and FlyQuest will clash on Saturday, August 31, in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Championship upper bracket final. The two North American sides last met on the opening day of the LCS 2024 Summer regular season, when Team Liquid won, and according to LoL betting odds, the rematch should not end much differently.
FlyQuest enter the LCS 2024 Championship upper bracket finals off a surprise 3-1 victory against Cloud9. The underdogs managed to produce a decisive victory, and while some of their success was due to Cloud9 choking very advantageous positions, it is hard to criticise FlyQuest for what they showed on the day.
Team Liquid had no issues crushing 100 Thieves in the second round, which hardly comes as a shock. There is nothing of note to take from that series; Team Liquid performed significantly better, albeit against a weaker opponent.
Now priced at $1.24, Team Liquid are expected to have an easy time beating FlyQuest, which is not too surprising, as FlyQuest looked like the most vulnerable of the top-three teams during the regular season. But they managed to keep their head in the game against Cloud9, showing a more methodical approach with few slip-ups.
This does not change the fact that Team Liquid have been more efficient throughout the split, yet the gap between the two LCS juggernauts is not nearly as large as the top LoL betting sites suggest with their offer.
FlyQuest taking two maps on Saturday isnt too far-fetched, so at $2.33, theyre a solid pick on the map handicap market.
The post Team Liquid vs FlyQuest betting picks – LCS 2024 Summer Playoffs appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The post 100 Thieves vs Dignitas betting picks – LCS 2024 Summer Playoffs appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>100 Thieves and Dignitas are set to clash on Friday, August 30, in a rematch from the first round of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Championship. 100T won the last affair, and according to LoL betting sites, the rematch should not end much differently.
Priced at $2.94, Dignitas are given just north of a 34% implied probability of beating 100 Thieves, which, considering how toothless they looked in the first round, makes some sense. However, Dignitas performed uncharacteristically poorly on the day, so things can only go up from here for them.
Performance stats-wise, Dignitas are pretty stable as they have not been smashed that often C except for in the last meeting with 100 Thieves. Yet we have to consider that 100 Thieves did not play well that day and even less so in their 0-3 loss against Team Liquid in the last round.
As proven during the regular season, there is not much to set LCS teams apart quality-wise C excluding the top three in Liquid, FlyQuest and Cloud9, who are a class above. So it is hard to justify siding with 100 Thieves at this number.
Lack of consistency, besides poor macro, are two big things all these bottom LCS teams have in common, so it is wise to consider backing any squad at plus money, especially when we talk about numbers that reach closer to $3.00.
As long as Dignitas don’t collapse again, we should be in for a competitive game and not nearly as one-sided as the offered betting odds suggest.

]]>The post FlyQuest secure first LoL World Championship berth in four years appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>This marks FlyQuest’s first World Championship appearance in four years, and they did it in style, taking down one of the LCSs most storied teams.
FlyQuests journey to this victory wasnt straightforward.
After finishing third in the LCS Summer regular season with a 5-2 record, FlyQuest fell to Cloud9 0-2 on the final day.
However, their thirst for revenge was evident in the playoffs.
Despite losing the first game of the series, FlyQuest looked dominant throughout, nearly clinching the win in map one before Cloud9 managed a narrow comeback.
From that point on, it was all FlyQuest.
In the following maps, FlyQuest took control, winning maps two and three in long but convincing fashion.
The final map, however, was a masterclass in dominance.
FlyQuest dismantled Cloud9 in just 26 minutes with a perfect 14-0 kill score, leaving Cloud9 without a single kill.
A significant contributor to FlyQuests victory was mid laner Song “Quad” Su-hyeong, who celebrated his 22nd birthday by putting on an exceptional performance.
Quad achieved a 25-5 kill/death score over the series, with a standout nine-kill performance in Game 2 on Smolder.
His 81% kill participation underscored his critical role in FlyQuest’s success.
But it wasnt just Quad who shone.
Top laner Gabri?l “Bwipo” Rau rebounded from a difficult start to hold his own in a Renekton vs. KSante battle against C9s Park “Thanatos” Seung-gyu.
Meanwhile, jungler Kacper “Inspired” S?oma secured a crucial baron steal on map three, shifting the momentum decisively in FlyQuests favour.
After the match, Inspired highlighted the teams growth in coordination, stating, The team is finally doing only coordinated plays; in this game and the whole series, we never took a fight when we didnt need to.
This win sends FlyQuest to the upper bracket final against Team Liquid on Saturday, August 31.
Although their primary goal of reaching LoL Worlds is secured, FlyQuest is far from complacent.
Inspired acknowledged the challenge ahead, noting that Team Liquid is equally adept at controlled gameplay, making their upcoming match anything but easy.

Cloud9, on the other hand, now faces a critical test.
After falling to FlyQuest, theyll await the winner of Dignitas vs. 100 Thieves for a do-or-die match on Sunday, September 1, to claim the final LCS spot at Worlds.
Despite their recent struggles, Cloud9 remains a formidable opponent, having attended ten of the past eleven World Championships.
However, theyll need to regroup quickly and address the mistakes that plagued them in this series to keep their streak alive.
FlyQuest’s victory not only avenges their regular season loss to Cloud9 but also cements their resurgence in the LCS.
As they prepare to face Team Liquid, fans can expect a thrilling encounter between two of the top teams in North America.

With the LPL and LEC concluding on August 30 and September 1, respectively, it will leave the LCK and LCS as the last two splits to finish before the LoL World Championship kicks off on September 25.
Weibo Gaming (WBG) and Bilibili Gaming (BLG) will face off in the grand final of the LPL Summer Playoffs. BLG can cement their claim as the best team from China, and WBG can qualify for LoL Worlds with an upset victory.
BLG swept WBG 3-0 when these two met in the upper bracket semi-final, and they are expected to repeat that performance in the final, with esports betting sites marking them as a $1.12 favourite.
The LPL Regional Finals will take place the following week, with JD Gaming, LNG Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas awaiting the fourth team to join them in the last chance stage.

Following their wins in the quarter-finals, Dplus KIA and T1 have joined Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports in the double-elimination playoff bracket.
With only one defeat to their name throughout the LCK Summer split, Gen.G are considered heavy favourites to take out the summer title.
If Gen.G takes out the title, T1, Hanwha Life Esports, Dplus KIA, KT Rolster and FearX will clash in the LCK Regional Finals for the last three World Championship spots in the Korean league.

Team Liquid have dominated the LCS Summer split, finishing the regular season with a 7-0 record before winning their way into the upper bracket final in the first week of the playoffs.
Cloud9, 100 Thieves and Dignitas will seek to claim the final Worlds spot by finishing in the top three, due to Liquid and FlyQuest already qualifying for the season-ending event.

The LEC Season Finals will take place on the weekend, with MAD Lions KOI clashing with G2 Esports on August 31 to earn the right to meet Fnatic in the grand final on Sunday, September 1.

By beating Cloud9 last round, Team Liquid claimed the tag as the no.1 team in the LCS. It was a solid display from Liquid, but not that surprising, considering the LCS 2024 Spring champions tend to perform better when faced with stronger teams.
After losing to Dignitas 0-2 on Saturday, NRG are 2-4 and in danger of missing the playoffs. That is expected as NRG have been struggling this split, ranking bottom-three across most metrics. That includes -157 gold difference per minute, 1770 gold per minute, 30.8% first tower rate, 38.5% first blood rate, and the league’s second-worst -1207 gold difference at 15 minutes.
The betting odds on this match reflect a considerable quality difference between the two sides. And even though Liquid have had some closer games against weaker opponents, this should be an easy fixture for them.

Even though LCS teams are not that far apart quality-wise, Shopify Rebellion have proven to be one of the least efficient squads of the split. But despite their concerning record, Shopify Rebellion showed some signs of life over the last two weeks, with a 2-0 win against Dignitas and a decent showing in a 1-2 loss to FlyQuest.
100 Thieves won their second match of LCS 2024 Summer against Immortals on Saturday, but not without a struggle. It was a terrible display from Kim “River” Dong-woo and his crew, who won only thanks to Immortals’ atrocious performance. Such a display should make anyone wonder why LoL betting sites have them priced as favourites.
Neither of these teams are good, but that applies to all LCS squads outside of the top three. Therefore, any plus money bet we can get in these affairs is a solid choice.

NRG have secured two victories this split, and they hardly deserve much more. NRG are one of the worst-performing teams in the league — especially in the early game, with a -1355 gold difference and a -0.5 tower difference at 15 minutes.
Dignitas are 1-4 and on a three-game losing streak, yet they have shown a pulse against stronger opponents. They fumbled against Shopify Rebellion last week and lost 0-2, but the eye test suggests Dignitas are not terrible. Like NRG, they are simply not good.
Despite the difference in win tallies, there are no reasons to believe NRG are stronger than Dignitas. The two LoL esports teams seem very close in quality, so taking Dignitas side at plus money makes more sense.

100 Thieves took a map from FlyQuest last week, which might explain the prices offered by LoL betting sites. But FlyQuest arent the most consistent team, so we can take 100 Thieves success with a grain of salt.
100 Thieves are one of the more volatile teams in the league, and their total kills average per game (27.8) is a good indication of how they like to play. Immortals, meanwhile, are the least bloody team in LCS 2024 Summer (22.6 average kills), mainly due to their ability to keep games fairly stable in the first 15 minutes.
The quality difference between LCS teams outside the top three is marginal enough not to have such strong favourites for any series. As such, it makes very little sense to give Immortals under 35% implied probability to defeat a squad who are just as bad as them.
