?Invictus Gaming will kick off LPL 2022 Spring with a tough match against one of the league’s top teams, Weibo Gaming. These first-round games give the underdogs the best chance of upsetting the favourites, but it’s hard to make a strong case for IG even at the offered LoL esports betting odds.
Invictus Gaming will struggle to improve upon their performances in the previous split due to failing to make any notable roster upgrades. And it’s not too crazy to think that IG will again place outside of the top 10.
Weibo Gaming have not made any roster changes either, but they didn’t have to. Boasting one of the most stacked rosters in the Chinese LoL league, they are deservingly one of the outright favourites ($9.00) to win the title. And they might do it as long as Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok can continue showing that he is no longer the coin-flip player he was known to be during his time at IG.
This is Weibo Gaming’s game to lose, and unless IG players have a game of their lives, it should end in a swift 2-0 victory for the favourites.

?EDward Gaming were expected to dominate the league last split, but unfortunately, things did not play out as expected, as they could only manage a seventh-place finish in the regular season and did not impress in the playoffs either – crashing out of the second round against Weibo Gaming. However, on a more positive note, EDG demolished FunPlus Phoenix in the first round of the playoffs (3-1).
FunPlus Phoenix enter LPL 2022 Summer with a slightly different roster, which now features many former academy players. We don’t have a problem with the strategy FPX chose since they need to rebuild following the departure of the 2019 LoL World Championship roster, but that also means that FPX is not aiming at the LPL title this split.
Realistically, they can’t set their goals for LPL 2022 Summer that high since FPX’s squad isn’t talented enough to compete with China’s top teams. They should still finish inside the top 10, but an eighth-place finish is their ceiling. On the other side, EDG have kept the core roster intact and added just one player in jungler Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia, who has returned from a short stint at Rare Atom.
Without any changes, EDG look to be as strong as they were in the previous split, although they should be more efficient now that the players have formed a stronger bond. FPX, on the other hand, seem to have a high ceiling with younger talent, but they remain much weaker than EDG.
