TEAM LIQUID VS GOLDEN GUARDIANS LCS SUMMER SPLIT BETTING PREVIEW

The reigning champs Team Liquid will take on Golden Guardians this Monday in their final match in Week 3 of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Spring Split.

Team Liquid’s standing this split is not all too promising due to visa issues that have prevented them from entering the season with full strength. Better times are ahead for the four-time LCS champions, however, as it was unveiled at the end of last week that Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen’s visa has been approved at last. He will not make his LCS debut until next week, meaning Liquid remain Broxah-less for the time being.

Team Liquid had a slow start this season, but we were impressed by their performance in win over FlyQuest. That display made it clear that TL will dismantle any team that allows them to get ahead in the early game, while they tend to struggle when they need to fight from behind.

Golden Guardians have failed to show anything notable so far this season. They lost both of their matches in Week 1 against 100 Thieves and Cloud9, to which they added a close win against Evil Geniuses and a devastating loss to Immortals in Week 2.

It is hard to be overly optimistic about Golden Guardians, as their only win came against Evil Geniuses in a very messy game that ended with a cheeky backdoor. The only reason GG won that match was because EG’s macro play and map awareness are nearly non-existent, and we won’t even start with their drafting and team fights.

As much as we would like to give credit to Golden Guardians for their win, they did not have a single player who stood out and the team as a whole failed to show any playoff quality. There is a lot of room for improvement in this team, which ranks among the weakest in the league at the moment.

TEAM LIQUID VS GOLDEN GUARDIANS LCS SPRING SPLIT BETTING PREDICTIONS

All esports bookmakers agree Golden Guardians’ chances of winning here are extremely slim, and we have no arguments to make against that.

If we look at this match lane by lane, Team Liquid come out ahead every time and with quite a significant advantage. Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong should have no issue defeating Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell in the top lane, while we have no doubts Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen will take over the mid lane against Greyson Gregory “Goldenglue” Gilmer.

Liquid’s biggest advantage comes in the bottom lane. Yiliang “Peter” “Doublelift” Peng and Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in have over 15 years of combined experience in top-tier League of Legends esports, so the GG pair of Ian Victor “FBI” Huang and Yuri “Keith” Jew will have to be at their very best to have any chance.

Don’t expect much from Golden Guardians. While Team Liquid had their iffy moments this season, they know they cannot afford to lose matches like this if they are serious about catching up to Cloud9 in the title race. For that reason, we have to side with the favourites to dominate this match and deliver a commanding win.
